Who Will Be Riding?

How Tall is the Rider?

Sizing a Bike

The height of the rider and the size of wheels on the bike go hand-in-hand. Bigger bikes with bigger wheels are more suitable for those who are taller or older, while smaller/training bikes with smaller wheels are built to fit younger, smaller children. To make sure that a bike is comfortable and safe, choose the rider’s height by sliding the arrow on the scale.

Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind before riding:

  • Raise or lower the seat to a comfortable level.
  • At least 2” of the seat post should be hidden for seat stability.
  • Sit on the bike with one foot on the pedal closest to the floor. There should be a slight bend in the knee, which is over that pedal. When sitting, make sure only the tips of your toes touch the ground.
  • For maximum comfort, make sure that the seat should be level or nearly level with the ground.
  • The ideal handlebar height is one where you can ride comfortably, without puttin strain on your back, shoulders or wrists.
