Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great learning toy I purchased this product to use with my children. As a teacher, I love that this toy is fun, but very educational. My older daughter can use the sorting pie with the sorting cards, like intended. My younger daughters love all the little pieces of fruit too and can sort them into colored sorting bowls. We keep this toy stored in the box on a shelf so we do not have to worry about keeping track of all the fruit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful learning activity for individuals and groups! This game is known to our classroom as "lets make a pie"! My sweet class LOVES to make pie! The interchangeable place cards for the pie make this game very easy to adapt for all levels. There are many ways to seek learning opportunities while making pies with your child, student, or during therapy. Individuals are able to make choices, decide how many, what color, what fruit, etc. There are so many variations. This is my favorite thing about this game! I would highly recommend this game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many flavours of fun We've been having a lot of fun with our sorting pie. There are so many activities you can do with it thanks to the different insert cards. Sorting by colour, fruit type (which can be a challenge when there is more than one colour of each fruit type), and counting activities too. I just need to get my little one to persevere with using the tweezers. I know he can, he's just discovered it's easier to use his hands. Best of all, the pie fits right in with our play kitchen toys and adds an extra learning dimension to cooking up play food. For example, I have been requesting 'four-fruit pies', which my little cook heads to the kitchen to cook up. Or if I'm being a particularly fussy customer I will ask for a pie with only yellow and green fruits! The sorting pie is so well made, and I know it will last my (just) four year old for a good few years as yet, as we can use it to solve maths problems as well as for play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instantly Draws a Child In Early learning should never be boring, never be tedious, and never be forced. Instead it's better to provide learning materials that instantly draw a child in, peaking their curiosity and and encouraging them through discovery. The Super Sorting Pie from Learning Resources is one of the most engaging toys I've seen in a while. There isn't a child I know that wouldn't want to get their hands on this toy. The sorting discs that fit in the bottom of the pie are printed on both sides, giving the child six obvious ways to begin sorting. Sorting by color and shape and characteristic are all pre-math skills that preschoolers absolutely need. It also comes with two pair of giant tweezers (using them to pick up the fruits strengthens their finger muscles which is important for beginning to write). Since there are two, I can easily make up some sorting games that include two of the children at a time. Building the social skills of cooperating and sharing should be part of every preschooler's learning! The fruits are a perfect size for little hands. Learning Resources built so many developmental benefits into this toy! All the discs fit in the bottom, all the fruits fit in the pie, and the lid is curved enough to even allow for both pair of tweezers to fit in the pie when it's closed. I am so absolutely thrilled with the Super Sorting Pie. It's already won two awards and I'll bet it wins many more! I received this product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Colourful and fun sorting pie Absolutely love this pie, loads of ways to sort using colour, shape or numbers. The tongs provided also help develop a child's hand /eye coordination. My son has had hours sorting, lining up and counting the fruits. Grouping in size and lining up in patterns. So many ways to use and easy to store away after play with the pie's lid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this toy! I first saw this toy at a kids' group I take my 2 year old to. There were 4 or 5 kids all trying to play with it at once - they all loved it! So I decided to purchase this toy for my daughter. My two daughters and I enjoy playing with the pie together, sorting it in all sorts of ways. I like to use it with my 6 year old and get her to create patterns with the colours and types of fruit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Math Learning Made Fun!! Math, to me, sometimes can be a bit boring, and there is only so long that you can keep counting on your fingers until you run out, even when you use the entire families hands!! The Super Sorting Pie can become so many different learning tools for us- I just love it! My favorite way to use it as a teacher is using it as a math manipulative. My daughter can use the pieces of fruit to add and subtract- it makes the numbers even more real when she sees me adding 2 bananas and 3 grapes. She just "gets it" a whole lot easier!! For my 3 year old, she uses it more as a pretend play item- making me fruit pies and trying to sell them to me, which I think is adorable, but she also is learning patterns, sorting, and number sense as well. Using the fruit pieces she can do very simple math - which I think is huge for a 3 year old!! The activity cards allow them to play several different engaging and educational games. This is one toy in our home that definitely is getting used daily, for play and for school

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Many Uses! This pie is adorable! It is a lot bigger than I expected, as is each of the fruit pieces. There are so many different uses for this pie that it is fun to see what my they come up with. There are tons of fruits (60 to be exact) that kids can match up and sort. There are two plastic tweezers included that are perfect for little kids hands. Once all done all the pieces fit nicely in the pie and you can close it up. It would be nice if the pie top snapped on to seal the pie shut as I am worried pieces will fall out, but at least it does cover it up. You can also use the pie top crust to put all the pieces in while sorting them. The Super Sorting Pie is perfect for kids to not only have fun but learn a few things too. My boys are 3 and 5 and think its cool. I will say it is definitely not for kids younger than 3 if they are still putting stuff in their mouths, as the pieces are kind of small. Overall, though this product has so many great features that I don't see getting bored with it anytime soon!
