Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Incredible Set This set is a huge build compared to many of the other architecture sets and as a dedicated fan of that theme, I can say that this is indeed one of the finest sets. It is hard to give the piece a sense of scale in a standard picture but it completely dwarfs the other sets and really commands a presence in a room. It really is a challenge and fun build and the value for money is great, coming well under the golden ratio for price per part. As you can see from my window sill, the statue is certainly the shining masterpiece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lady liberty at her finest As Architecture sets go this one really is a true testament to how far the theme has come in recent years. The details on this beautiful set are absolutely incredible! And the size of the structure is decent too. Also some of the techniques used to construct the set are very very impressive, there's alot of repitition building in the plinth section but that is to be expected given the source material. And the inclusion of so many new pieces in sand green is going to be a huge bonus to many MOC Fans out there. I applaud the design crew who worked on this beautiful work of art. My advice to anybody that is going to build this is simply to take your time, as when you are constructing lady liberty it is easy to lose track and make a small mistake here and there.. don't rush the build just do it at your leisure and enjoy it. Nice one Lego.. you've done it again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lady Liberty I've been to the Statue a Liberty a few years ago. It was really something then, This set was added to my Architecture section. Overall, the repetition is mainly to the plinth section. There is very minimal, if any repetition on the statue build. Be careful on those little small green pieces on part of the body, as I can see why it can be tricky to mess it up. I was impressed with the height and size, a little bit bigger than I expected. The face could've been a little better, but it's not really bothersome if you don't think about it and from a distance, not really noticeable. Overall, a great set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It looks really nice, a great display piece I saw this was available and felt it would make a great addition to the growing Lego display of places around the world. I think it should have had a sticker with Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. It really does need that. This is a really nice set and I have it by my door welcoming people to my home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Most Patriotic Set from Architecture so far! The LEGO Architecture Statue of Liberty will catch in eye in any house and it is instantly recognizable. Fans have complained about the lack of a face but I for one find it okay at this scale. The model consists of two main colors-tan and sand green, with some red, yellow, blue, and black used on the inside. Every detail on this model is absolutely, one-hundred percent accurate. Having visited the actual thing in New York City, I can tell you that the model has every detail captured perfectly. My favorite is layer of detail is the balcony level of the pedestal. For your money, the price-per-piece ratio is good however there are many small pieces as one can expect in an architecture set. The green 2x1 curved slopes are very numerous in the set and, take it from me, pay very careful attention to the one the instructions are asking you to place as I neared the end I had the wrong type left and I had to backtrack and I eventually found my error but just pay attention.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect proportions and lots of detail I love New York City and had always regretted not having purchased the original Statue of Liberty set back in 2002 when I was working there, but to be honest I think this set is better and although much smaller than the previous one it looks more accurate and also features the stone pedestal which is beautifully detailed, particularly the quoins down the corners. The use of the incised brick pattern 2x1 bricks really adds to the fine detail and clever off setting of the levels of the pedestal give it a fine profile. There's a bit of repetition, the elements are so small you quickly put them together, though they are fiddly for bigger fingers. You need to pay attention when making some of the folding fabric sections and there are a lot of left and right handed 2x1 curved sections so I'd suggest sorting them out first. One minor thing is the lack of Lady Liberty's face, but a 'dreaded sticker' in this instance would have been inappropriate. It's a lovely set and an impressive height.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Architecture Set Ever! This is an amazing set. Great detail in the tower and body. But like a lot of others, I do wish it had a custom-made face. The shield piece does not do it justice. But with a couple pieces and a Thunderbird head from a Fantastic Beasts set, I think I solved the problem. Lol. Keep up the great work Lego!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Challenging Build Got this as a bday gift - It´s a highly detailed statue considering its lego bricks! It was a bit challenging here and there, more so especially when making the "flow" on lady liberty herself It looks so good when its finished though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from enjoyable build of an iconic structure The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of the blank face. But, I found JK Brickworks' easy modification to use pieces from the kit to create a good representation of the actual face, so I bought this kit and don't regret it. Even with the repetition, it was an enjoyable build, especially the pedestal. Thankfully, the left and right-sloped pieces came in separate bags so that made it much easier to assemble the outer surface of the statue. I recommend that LEGO modify the basic kit to incorporate face details in future production runs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Detail to Lady Liberty My daughter, 15 years old, and I enjoy building Lego Architectural sets together. We have completed most of the sets and we both agree Lady Liberty has the best detail of any of the sets thus far. Having no face is a little odd, but we really enjoyed our time building this one. Bravo Lego!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fantastic model ruined by poor face plate This is a superb model from the top to just below the face plate. Being a huge Lego fan, I am very surprised that this model did not have a custom made face plate. The face ruins an otherwise great model. Very, very disappointing from Lego. What was the designer thinking?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool set - less the face This was my first trip into the Architecture series and, overall this was a fun build. The pics don't do it justice on the size, and it is solidly built. The set makes an overall great display piece... That being said, the designers should have done more for the face. The "face" plate is ridiculous...there is zero reason a contoured plate could not have been recreated for the face, or at least a printed one. I had to find a mod to at least give it some depth. It's really a shame more wasn't done for this and for the tablet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing depiction of Lady Liberty I thoroughly enjoyed this build. I like that there are red, white and blue bricks on the inside. The details are great and her pose perfect. I wasn't a fan of the flat face so I modified that, but even if I didn't this would still be one of my favorite sets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding detail First of all let me please address those who are deterred by the representation of Lady Liberty's face using the modified pentagonal tile: I believe your expectations are far too high. At this scale, I cannot fathom a way to make a face that would work. Furthermore, it seems that other reviewers were SURPRISED to find her without a face when it's clearly depicted on the box and in images on this site that her face was "missing." Enough on all that -- on to the good stuff. This build was one of the most enjoyable I've had with the Architecture series. The detailing throughout the model is beyond impressive. It seemed that with every turn of the page I found myself going, "wow, would you look at that!" I learned a myriad of new building techniques as I constructed this model and the vast number of parts offered in Sand Green is an absolute joy - though I can't imagine I'll ever take her apart! When your model is complete, take some real time and look closely at the pedestal and robes of the model compared to images of the actual statue. I'm certain you'll be as impressed and in awe of LEGO's design work as I am.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Statue of Liberty 21042 This was a joy to build. Various parts are repetative when building up the base but this never felt tedious or dull. In spite of the fact that the majority of its 1,685 pieces are one by two plates, tiles, studs and cheese slopes, it is still a very substantial build compared to other sets within the archiceture line. The set itself has some real presence in a room and it commands attention and is a great talking point. It is a respectable representation of the real thing both propotionally and in its over all shaping. The way the lighting bounces of every angle of this set means that you can see the build in all its glory from every veiwing angle. The way the bricks seem to weave seemlessly throughout the set makes it a real pleasure to look at when displayed. Building the parts and then putting them in place was a great experience and highlighted just how incredible the archiceture line has come in the past few years. There are some great building techniques used which were surprising when you place parts into the overall set. My only con regarding this set would be the face. It is a real shame that through the entire build a lot of detail can be seen and is very well presented. Adding the blank plate to represent the face felt dissappointing and is almost a discredit to the hard work and dedication the Lego designers must have taken to bring this set to life. Thankfully all the pieces required to adjust the shape to something a little more in keeping with the rest of the build are provided as spares or by making some small adjutments to the build. The instruction manual was also very well presented and provided a wealth of historical information and did you know moments about the build that help you learn more about the Statue of Liberty itself. This was an excellent experience and added to the overall building journey.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from America This was a crazy build with so many tiny pieces! Some parts are very repetitive, 4x, once for each side. My biggest complaint is the lack of a face on the statue. Why no face LEGO? This is such an iconic statue and to just leave it blank seems wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The finest liberty set ever While I’m not a huge fan of the architecture series I do find them very interesting. I decided to take the plunge on this set and as my very first architecture series set, I couldn’t be happier! This set is incredibly detailed and embodies lady liberty in every tiny brick! This set will have a permanent place in my home! Thank you Lego group for producing this awesome set!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun build I think it’s a good build for it’s price. I would recommend to LEGO to maybe include a sticker for the face because a blank piece is a little dull.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun to build, but could be improved. My partner and I enjoyed building the statue set. The level of detail we usually see from Lego was present, but they left the face of the statue a bit abstract (which is odd considering the detail that went into the torch). Otherwise its still a great set and worth collecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice addition to the Architecture theme The Statue of Liberty set is definitely a great addition to the architecture theme and adds to any collection. The build was great and was one that my younger sister jumped straight in to help build. Although the finished product looks great I can’t help but feel that the face of lady liberty is abit plain by just being a flat plate, there is definitely more Lego could have added. There were a few tedious points like connecting lady liberty to the technic brick in the base and the pedastool felt repetitive at times, but the finished look by all means makes it worth it. Build time was abit longer for me as I separate all the bits out as I open a bag but could easily be done in 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Worth the price tag and worth investing in a light kit for the piece. I have added the lightailing light set for the piece and it really lifts the overall design even further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time building with Lego I'm new to this hobby. I always wanted to try building a Lego set. I picked out the Statue of Liberty and I'm so glad I did. As a new builder, I took my time. Love the book. It talks about the history of the statue. I learn to take my time and double check my work, making sure I didn't grab the wrong Legos. Once I was done, I was very proud of it. It's now on top of my fireplace. It's about 17 inches tall and about 2 lbs when done. I'm looking forward in building more Lego kits. Glad I found this hobby!
