Rated 3 out of 5 by jcat from Could do better Once over the frustration of the App and navigating the build instructions, we were away. A great toy that my boys have enjoyed. Lego - Please please please can you offer a motor add on, along with the required pieces that will allow the 3 'droids' to be used simultaneously. At this price they should be included. Your imagery is almost misleading, showing all droids built, when this does not seem possible without three motors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by FrustratedDroid from 8+, Really? Poor experience overall. Build instructions on a phone are difficult to see and follow. As for the "game", really interested in exactly how to build the "Accessories" in bag #12. I purchased this for the builds no the "game". Without the instructions I can't complete the builds and playing a games for potentially hours to get the instructions is not what i'm used to with Lego. If I can't figure this out in the next hour the whole set is going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by xing from The droids are good size models and fun to build. The app has improved from Lego Boost in showing how to place the bricks - it is good for kids and beginner. It also entertains and brings life to the droids. Overall I am satisfied - it is good enough for kids to learn about robots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by OneTruBob from Great concept, poor execution First I want to say that as someone who actively encourages kids to get into STEM I was very excited by the whole Boost platform. I do understand Lego wanting to get into the tablet games but I think putting the building instructions inside an app the requires playing the story was a bad move. I was excited to see the new Boost platform and hopeful that it would be better than what has come before. Sadly the Move Hub seems to not be quiet ready for prime time. My biggest issue is with control and it is 2 fold: First the motors are so jumpy that the droids aren't consistent in their performance. It's like they jump from Zero to Full on instantly. Teh poor Gonk Droid can barely stay upright. Second, Maybe I'd like to just remote control the droids. Why don't I have that option?

Rated 5 out of 5 by princess0615 from My son loves this Lego set! My 13 year old son absolutely loves Legos and even more so Star Wars. When I gave this to him, he was ecstatic. You have to download the app in order to build, program, and control the droids. I sat with him just to make sure he didn't need any help but he was able to navigate through the app to build the droids. I think some of the videos could be a little faster when building instead of so long. I think I was a little more excited than him to see them built and in motion. The droids traveled nicely on the hard wood floor, but not so much on the rugs or carpet. I really love that the programming step was a learning experience aside from the fun of it all. We both like R2-D2 the best as his detail was made just as the movies. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tekwych from No More Boost No building instructions in the box. OK. That’s fine. Just download them. Oh, wait, no digital copy, have to use the app to build as well as program. OK, download the app. Can’t use app because it REQUIRES access to my device microphone. I don’t want to listen to Lego's sound effects and music while building thins and the most certainly don’t need to listen to me. This is wrong for any product and doubly so for something geared to kids. Do not buy boost products

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mantaray from What a disappointment! I have been building Lego sets for many years, as a child and as a father. Never have i been disappointed! until i purchased the Lego Boost Star Wars set for my child. No instructions, no possibility to download the app in my country, no explanation about this when i bought the set - nothing! i wasted a lot of money on this, and can do almost nothing with what i bought!

Rated 3 out of 5 by JJ19862009 from Make better for collecting I'm a collector and don't really care about the games and other activities that comes with this set. It is a grate set to display but with only one power thing and with out really showing how to display without it. Maybe in the future give the option to build without the story for us who just want to collect. Thanks

Rated 4 out of 5 by lego61 from good gift, fun toy, expensive This is a pretty decent set, but I'd probably describe it more as an "experience" than a typical LEGO set. Be sure to check the requirements, as you will absolutely need to have the right type of device to use the corresponding app that goes with the "experience". From there, it's a decently challenging build for kids. I'd probably say a kid in the 8-10-year-old range is a good fit, maybe even a bit older. This is not something to give your five-year-old (especially one who can't read yet) and expect them to just figure it out, no matter how "smart" the kid is. Once you are really into building and using the app, the droids that are built are pretty neat. Note that there's only one "engine" that all three droids must share, but you can build all the droids at once. For the Star Wars and LEGO fan, this is perfect. Unlike most sets, the droids can actually do something and be something to play with rather than sit on a shelf. That said, it is pretty expensive for what it is. Would be a great gift for the kid in your life, especially if you want to be the "cool aunt/uncle" :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by Acira277 from Bring your LEGO to life My 10 year old son loves LEGO, Star Wars and coding so I thought this would be the perfect set for him. First, you need a smart device so you can download the LEGO Boost Star Wars app which has everything you’ll need to build, code and play. Secondly, you will also need six AAA batteries. My son had a hard time trying to build just going off of the app, I think including a hard copy with the LEGO set would really help (not just for the kids but also for the parents trying to help them). Once he had the characters built he was able to use the move hub in the character of his choice. The app was a little difficult for him to use at first but once he got used to it, he was able to use the droids in different missions. There is over forty of them, so your child is sure to be entertained for hours. Another thing to note, you will need to have your Bluetooth on your device to use the app and also the microphone. The microphone permissions is in case you want to transform your own voice into a Star Wars character. You can opt out of this if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Overall, I think this is a great set for kids who like LEGO and who want to explore more with coding. The age says for kids 8+ Years of age but I think it would be too challenging for anyone under 10 years old. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by duemay706 from Great Family Time I have a huband that loves Star Wars and a daughter that loves Legos. This was a great project for them to work together on. Awesome bonding and problem solving time. It was somewhat difficult so having dad help was beneficial and later on, play time. Both my 42 year old husband and 8 year old daughter loved this! Rated 5 out of 5 by Ray44 from Awesome stuff I’d like to say that I gave this to my 12-year-old kid to let him build it, but the truth is I did it myself. I’m totally a Star Wars nerd, and this product gave me hours of fun. For the Lego enthusiast and Star Wars fan you won’t find a better Lego set. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dache from Phew... This is a really challenging set to review. It's frustrating because the instructions were not as clear as normal sets we've done before and once completed it was pretty fragile. The app was also a pain to use. My son (age 7) lost interest before me and so I ended up putting it together. It's not the same type of set as other legos and I'd be hesitant to get anything else from this line. Rated 2 out of 5 by Hades from App not available worldwide I cant completely review this set. I purchased this in a trip to Miami. However the app is not available worldwide in the android play store. And this set particularly uses the app for build as well. So in other words I cant build it, i cant use the droids? Come on Lego I think it's time to take care of your fans worldwide.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Do not buy unless you have a recent Android tablet There are no included instructions and there is no Windows app. You need to be happy following instructions on your phone or Android tablet with Android 6.0 or later (do they even make Android tablets anymore?). Terrible idea! There should be a warning before checkout. I don't understand why they don't at least give an instructional PDF. This is very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KaitHikes from So much fun! My 11 year old has a new found love for Legos & this set is by far his favorite. Our family loves star wars so my husband, myself and even the little ones joined in and helped. We had so much fun. Directions are easy to follow & the playtime after build is endless with the missions. Highly recommend for any lego or star wars fan! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by kfrbailey from Great building experience This is a great Lego experience that combines the traditional building process and coding. It doesnt have paper instructions which is kind of a bummer but the app makes the whole thing possible. You need the app to program the thing so its a necessary part anyway. Loads of fun and takes legos to the next level [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by Youraveragejoe3462 from Bad execution of concept The lego boost program is really cool and intuitive but impossible to do if you don't have a device. The droids in this set are very iconic and the build quality is great. But again, if the set came with instructions and not a confusing online manual it would be better. Overall i think the concept is good but lego should consider that people want a paper manual.

Rated 2 out of 5 by fjsventura from Buggy APP The lego is interesting and fun to play, but... The app is more buggy than it should. besides the hurtful amount of spelling mistakes I'm completely unable to finish the mission "Evacuation Call" because the Bluetooth signal never reaches 100. I'm also unable to sync the app with lego life. Reliability was always a selling point of lego. I see it is no more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Deployeddad from Desire instructions separate from app Dream droids available! I especially love Gonk! My primary concern is that build instructions are only available through the app. I’m old school and would like to have them separate. Please create a downloadable pdf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by del97 from Interactive building experience This is an amazing toy! First, you have to understand that this is an app based lego building experience, meaning, you MUST use device with app capabilities to build and play with this toy. Although, the building itself is not overly challenging in comparison to other Star Wars Lego kits I have done before, it is somewhat complex. I would recommend this for 4th grader, who are comfortable with computers/phones, and up. But once you get going, this is so much fun. The droids are so cool and they can be built individually, but they all share one boost hub. This is the perfect gift for a star wars fan or anyone interested in robots. It is such a fun building experience. I highly recommend this and think its worth the cost. I think this is a good mix of technology and hands on for kids around 10 and up. It took my ten year old son a couple hours to build all three droids. He just loves them. Nice Christmas present for sure! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
