Rated 5 out of 5 by Beirao66 from Great set A fantastic set! I was expecting him (as well as 42110) since his announcement and I placed the order at 00:01 on 10/01/2019. Complex this set. Its construction was a challenge, with some mistakes, but it was worth it. Seeing the full capabilities of its 7 engines and 2 hubs was fantastic. And the simultaneous execution of various movements controlled by the Lego Control + App is new. Many possibilities offers the set, through firmware and software upgrades. Congratulations and continue on this path. One missing piece that the friendly and effective Lego Support service promptly sent. 5 stars for this service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LEGOcreatordudes from Just Awesome Everyone should have this set. Why? Because the functionality is perfect. The app works awesome on all my different devices. The app is responsive. And I love all the details. And let’s not forget that you get 7 motors and 2 very cool smart hubs. So I love this set. BUT. I have seen some reviewers that say that you can’t make any custom LEGO sets due to the fact that you can only control the two sets that are currently out. I just got an email back from LEGO. And they said that you will be able to make custom sets using the app and the motors and other stuff in the beginning of 2020. (You will also be able to buy the electronic components for individual purchase as well).

And the functionality is great. Everything works so smoothly from the app and everything. ALSO!!! To anyone who is having trouble with the step two smart hub testing process. When you do that. You have to have all of the motors connected to the hub in order for it to connect to the app. And after you are done testing. You can take out the extra motors you just put in. And continue building. I hope that this solved the confusion, because I really don’t like seeing bad reviews on a LEGO set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KevinW from Great build Was a fun build and the finished product is great. It is a large model. The excvator works well and to use your phone to control it is a fantastic idea. The bucket needed a little bit of plastic removed so it would not bind. Recomend to all if you are thinking of buying it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OldFogeyKen from Better to play with after it is built The build is not the most pieces of any set, nor is it the most complex, there were no real problems building it and it was pretty straightforward. The only problem I had was solved when it turns out you ned to have all motors connected to the second hub to test it. This is not in the instructions, but calling support they are aware of it and just plugging the motors in will allow you to test part two. The thing is pretty heavy, the bag of 100 "rocks" is a good touch and it is how the LEGO group is able to claim that this is the largest set by piece count. Those pieces are not in the model unlike the rough terrain crane so I don't count them. When playing with it, make sure to stow the steps and lock them in place, I did not do that originally and caught it in the carpet. The controls are well explained and the app works fine on my phone. The model is very smooth compared to most power functions sets as there are not a lot of complex gears in the boom. The boom and bucket are all moved by linear actuators. The new longer linear actuator is soing to be something to play with in the future. All in all, a nice build, fun and heavy. Lots of replay value. Most of the expense is in the electronics and the license I suspect. But it is really fun to play with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by elvischien from Best play experience ever had First of all this set is not that “technic” compared to some of the “groundbreaking” flag ship sets. One thing I really need to give credit to is the play experience. Honestly Id rather have a set that’s ok interesting to build and works great after built( especially for sets with power functions ) than a set that has a fancy gear box and long drive trains but doesn’t work as smooth as you would expect. This is something that I always had complaints about technic sets. The Arocs is probably the only set that’s satisfying to build as well as to play with. (Highly recommend this set) So in terms of play experience this set really does a great job, everything works really smoothly(thanks to the short drive trains). APP works good as well. The only minor issue with the set is driving. The motors for the tracks is a little bit on the weak side. While on a perfectly flat surface it works great. When on a slightly rougher surface turning is almost impossible as it can no longer handle the torque without triggering the new clutch. A bit disappointed but none the less a fantastic set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Krissbuff from 42100 is the best technic kit When I seen this kit available I immediately knew this was a special build. The size of the finished model is very impressive and the controls are easy to use. Starting the built with the tracks and base with the motors I found the 1st bag contained a lot of peices. This could have been split up in to smaller bags to save the hours of sorting before the build starts. Bags number 2 is the main body of the It's the same with this, larger number of peices that could have been broken down in to smaller bags. Bags 3 build the main boom arm and bucket functions with the remaining bags 4, and 5 for detailing. This monster of a build has 7 motors and 2 smart hubs that connect to a smart device for pin point controls. While building this kit the instructions ask to test the hub as your building. I found that the app would not connect to the hub if all connections were connected. This was frustrating with the 2nd hub but after figuring out to plug all motors in for the test then it connects fine. I have had issues with the tracked hub where it would get "stuck on" even after closing the control + app and I've had to reset the hub by holding the button for 10secs. The control + app is very easy to use and the one touch, and programmable functionality is really good fun. I would highly recommend this kit for everyone and being a 30 something adult there is nothing like digging up large amount of lego

Rated 5 out of 5 by GeneralFlyingLeg from Great Building Experience I had been waiting months for this ever since I heard about it this past Spring. I am not disappointed with the result. It's a fantastic build. I haven't put it through a lot of operational paces but my initial reaction is that it is functionally very good. Somewhat pricey but you are getting a lot of model and function for the price and I consider it good value. I am sure my grandchildren will be thrilled when they see it.
