Manual functions include 4-wheel steering, 4-wheel drive, detailed V8 cylinder engine with moving pistons and fan, and adjustable wing mirrors, plus a detailed operator?s cab with an opening door. This amazing model also includes 2 opening compartments with tools, chains, fire extinguisher, work lights, plus 4 outrigger landing plates and 4 LEGO Technic building sections that can be lifted and assembled. This 2?in?1 LEGO Technic set comes with a red and black color scheme and can be rebuilt to create a Mobile Pile Driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing set I bought this model and brought it to my office. At first, every body was gathering around saying it was such a waste of money. Gradually, when they saw I built it day by day during my tea break, they were very admire how Lego could design a such detailed and very innovative model. Finally when everything was fully assembled and the power switched on, just a big WOW from everyone. I cannot forget the moment when people stood around me and kept their eyes on the last steps. Really love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A big set Well this is my first "big" 100% technic set and I was impressed. Coming from a "regular" Lego back ground it was a refreshing and challenging change. The intricate gear set up and the method to change between functions is cleverly done and the end result is surprising from the steps taken to get there. Probably the only negative, and it's often the same with normal Lego, is the instructions are sometimes a little vague on exactly which hole a pin is connecting to. In fact, after getting through all 900+ steps, I found that I had made a mistake in step 68 which was a real challenge to correct. Now there just needs to be a mod made to make this remote controllable with the Lego app!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please, more like this set! So, I started with some assumptions about that set would be enough for an afternoon. But it refuted, so the build time was far from couple of hours. As an adult, I think sets like this one makes sense even if they need lot of build time and have more challenges. As its size, pieces count, even functions. And even scale have more refinement in bigger size (not just rough 'pixels' on the screen). Its wheels... I love it. I planning to buy three more sets as its parts are valuable (lots of gears, actuators, etc..). So, this set is the number one for me from now. I would expect more and more sets like this, or even more pieces count. The build instruction has few hard to understand why this way (order of steps), the rest is clear, well structured. PLEASE, MORE LIKE THIS! ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lego present i have not played seriously with lego for 40 years ,apart from basic things with my grandchildren , i am disabled and in bad health and in need for something to occupy my mind and time, on my birthday 2 weeks ago i did not know what to think when my family bought me the technics rough terrain crane when i looked at the size of the box the amount of packets and how thick the instruction manuals are i was worried to say the least . i sat down and began packet 1 and was really happy how clear everything is the manual very clear in where things go and pegs coloured i made progress in no time apart from the odd peg the wrong way round which is usually easy to see when you try to put the next piece on it and it wont fir the peg shape i am doing 1 to 2 hrs a time and making great progress i love it im about half way in all that i made two mistakes but when spotted were easy to rectify in a short time , technic is not like normal lego blocks but is so fantastic ,how this is designed so great . cannot wait to finish then pick one out of a mounting list i have to do , fatastic lego include adult things too , the prices range from around £10 to £550 somthing for everyone ,i would recommend lego technics without a second thought .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 42082 build Excellent model, loved building it definitely the biggest one built yet. Certainly value for money & a great improvement on 42009. Many great RC functions, would recommend for anyone who fancy a challenge, can be built in about 12 hrs 32mins. I also think that the building is a lovely added feature to finish off the crane.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply epic This has to be one of the best sets ever. The most overwhelming thing is just how easy and user friendly the controls are, especially the steering which is so light and so well designed to move such a large vehicle. This beats all previous cranes, including 42009, hands down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holiday Joy I received the LEGO Rough Terrain Crane as a combined birthday/Christmas gift from my wife. On Boxing Day I started with book 1 and finished a week later - 2.3 hrs a day = 16 hrs total time. Absolutely enjoyed every moment of it even at my age. Very professional toy - well designed, easy to follow instructions for such a complex piece of engineering genius. The perfection of the LEGO mould fits together beautifully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny I got this as a birthday present, I've been eyeballing it for awhile. The build wasn't much different from other technic sets but the reward at the end is worth it. The height it reaches and the ease of controls are amazing. My 3yr old can operate it. Great features all around and very spot on details.
