Rated 4 out of 5 by from It’s a map! Overall I’m happy with this map, but Legos math is off on this one. This set uses 10,736 pieces if you follow the instructions, with 80 markers( 40 cones plus a matching smooth stud thats the same as all the other nine). I had 1,322 loose studs left over at the end of this project, so in reality my box officially had 12,058 pieces in an advertised set of 11,695. The set looks great, my only negative is there isn’t a compass or legend to explain the ocean topography or the markers and their meanings. Also, don’t follow the instructions on where to place the wall hangers, they are not set to 16”, more like 17”, this really needs to be mounted to studs it’s really heavy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome-sauce but... This was a really great build that I suggest you stretch out over multiple sessions. Built the set by first putting in the land masses (white & dark blue) at 1-2 columns (5-10 squares) per day. I didn't know how I'd put in the oceans, so I completed the entire set in about a week. Afterwards, I used the info from the box to guess how many pieces I'd need / have to complete the oceans & chose a different method than those I found online. I put in the oceans more by a climate zone theme (see photo). This involved math & sometimes guesswork. In the end, I ended up blending more colors than I originally intended, but I like the finished product. I'd like to see more creative designs displayed online for what people did with the oceans (and how they calculated colors needed).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great art for the wall This is my first LEGO Art set that I purchased and it was a challenging yet great set! It took me around 25+ hours to complete but after 15 hours, it started to get a little repetitive. I love that the oceans can be customised in a multitude of ways, and the white frame makes the whole thing look nice. I also love that the set comes with cone pieces to mark the places you have visited. One thing I was concerned about was hanging it up. The set weighs about 10 lbs. and my apartment doesn’t allow nails in the wall. I found that heavy duty Command strips that can hold 16 lbs. is more than enough for this set. Overall this is a great set! If you are in need of some wall art and don’t mind some repetition, I recommend this set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Following my own instructions Seeing the customizable oceans got me thinking about all of the possibilities with this set, and I ended up doing something I rarely do...I built my own thing. In the process, I had a blast figuring out my design and praying I had enough of each color to complete it. I may one day tear it all apart and build what I was supposed to, or I might just build something completely different again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ultimate travel experience! I am so glad I decided to purchase this set! I love the color scheme of the ocean. I also like the dark blue mixed in with the white, it makes the land pop out in a unique way. The build was fun, at times it was a little tiring, but at the end it all paid off! The map when completed seems a bit floppy, and sometimes I am afraid of it breaking, but it really isn't a big problem. I so enjoyed the soundtrack that you can listen to while you build, (FYI the soundtrack is not music, but kind of like a podcast about the set). I haven't yet customized it, but I look forward to it!! This is overall such a good set to look at or play around with, or whatever you want to do with it. It is definitely worth the money if you're thinking about buying this set. Thank you LEGO so much for such an exciting build, and such an amazing display!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Display Piece for an Office I bought this set in addition to the Globe that I assembled earlier in the year. I was not a fan of white continents, so I decided the colorize them and get creative with the oceans. The price per piece ratio is really good, so lots of options exist if you want to change things around. Not going the white continents route and not coloring in the oceans saved a lot of pieces that I used for pixel art. Overall, this was a fun build that allowed for me to be expressive in how things could go. Plus, you get extra pieces you can use in other art if you want to. Solid set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great build, but suggest a partner I am an experienced builder and this was my first art piece. The map really comes together throughout, however, I would suggest tackling this one with a partner. I found myself going through the motions around 50% of the way through given the repetition associated with using the same circle rounds. That said, the quality is certainly there you will be proud of the end result.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Missing Pieces I was SO excited to get this set for Christmas. However, once I opened all the bags of pieces that I received and got set up to start, I realized I was missing FOUR of the nine brick colors. Like not a single brick in those four colors necessary to do the ocean. How does that happen?? I’ve started the set with the missing pieces while waiting for a response from the missing brick department and realized they also definitely didn’t send enough of the white bricks for the land either. Cmon lego!! I’ve had my eyes on this set for forever! Pretty upset, hoping they make it right and send all the missing bricks that they forgot to include.
