Rated 3 out of 5 by from Challenging [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this kit from Mattel. My 10 year old son loves to build and use LEGOs. The individual bags in the box are not labeled or divided into steps. All the blocks had to be dumped and dug through for each step. This particular set has lots of very small bricks and pieces. Normally a set with this many pieces, 222 pieces, takes my son about an hour to put together. This has been a few hours he has worked on building. It is neat that when it’s completed there are moving parts, the arms move, the jaw opens and closes, so it can be posed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Realistic and fun [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this to review right before Christmas. My 10 year old son loves building sets and Pokémon is a favorite too, so the combination of both in one toy was a great surprise. He hasn’t finished building it yet but he’s been working on it a little everyday he’s been home. I took a star away because some pieces are more difficult to get to stay together and I’ve had to help get those difficult parts snapped in. Once this is completed I know my son will be proud to put it on display. It’s definitely a great buy for builders and Pokémon lovers alike.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun set [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a Mega Construx Pokemon Charizard set for my son to put together and review. He was immediately interested in this set. Just enough pieces to keep him entertained. He did have a bit of trouble understanding the instructions. I did help put the set together. Definitely for an older child in my opinion as the instructions are a bit hard to understand. Overall, great set. Awesome colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Total fun [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An absolute fun build for Pokémon fans. My daughter had this built quickly and just loves playing with it, especially loves the fire coming out if Charizard’s mouth. There are 222 pieces that are easy to assemble, so this is perfect for ages 8 and above. Fun for kids!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicely detailed & articulated figure [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Mega Construx Pokemon Charizard arrived the week before Christmas so it was something fun for my grandson & I to do over the Christmas holidays. I thought it looked a bit overwhelming because the box indicated that there are 222 pieces! Everything came packaged in plastic bags but they are not numbered so we really had no idea where to start. The instructions show which pieces you need for each step & how they are assembled, but it’s hard to tell some of the pieces from others that look nearly identical. Also, the pieces are bagged randomly so that what you need to complete a step might come from 3 or more different bags. We ended up dumping out all of the pieces & trying to keep the “like” ones together, which really helped. It took us a couple of hours to put this together but in the end he is really happy with the completed figure. It seems to be a display-only piece because if you try to play with it or pose the articulated parts, something seems to always pop off. Overall, this is a great piece for a Pokemon fan & the finished product is nicely detailed, but younger kids will definitely need some adult help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great build. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item as part of a promotion for my honest opinion. My son was skeptical about this because he had lego builds fall apart on him but this figure was different. The pieces seem more durable and once snapped in place it doesn’t shift or move. It took him about an hour to build it himself. The pictures were easy for him to understand. He loves how the wings feel and looks. Once complete he was able to run with and “attack” other Pokémon without his Charizard breaking apart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun to build, REALLY fun to play with! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this for my daughter and she took about 2 hours to build it. She did the entire build by herself and didnt request my help even once. She was so proud once she finished it and she's been playing with it as a toy for a couple weeks. Absolutely loves it. She can make it sit, stand, "fly," and all kinds of small movements. Awesome poseable toy! The pieces came in a few bags but ultimately all the bags had to be opened and sorted together as they are not presorted in any way. The instructions were clear enough that she never asked for help. The box says its for ages 8+ but my 6yo built it successfully on her own. My younger daughter wants one now too but do you think I can find one in town?? Apparently not. Would be really appreciative if Mega Construx had a box in stock . . . Hint hint!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions were great and easy to follow. Biggest complaint was that the bags were not marked and we had to open them all rather than work on them a bag a time. Also some of the pieces were difficult to snap together and required help from an adult. Once together they stayed well and my boys have been able to "play" with them.
