awful sound quality
I love Melissa & Doug products - unfortunately not this one. The piano itself looks cute but the noise it makes is awful and it's not very close to being in tune. Since it was wrapped in plastic we didn't know this until my daughter opened it. I'm hoping we were just given a defective one because this isn't the kind of quality we've experienced before from Melissa & Doug.

So adorable and fun but...
My one year old absolutely loves this and so do we. When I bought it at the store I didn't realize it was missing the color coded key bar and by the looks of it I'm also missing the the book if it is supposed to come with one? I (had already talked to customer service about the missing key chart and they were so great and so friendly and they are getting that part out to me already)Also is this tunable? I know this is just a toy but my goodness it needs tuned. Despite my unfortunate luck I would 100% recommended this! It is my sons favorite toy hands down!

Cute but out of tune
My daughter loves music received this piano as a gift. It's very cute but sounds awful. Are there any instructions on how to tune it?

The keys get stuck so u have to pull them out.
I didn't expect a professional style piano but I figured it would work properly. My 16 month old doesn't know the difference and loves it but it annoyed me when I tried to play and the keys got stuck.

This is a toy, NOT A GRAND PIANO!! Still love it!!
I see many reviews with people seemingly expecting the sound of a full piano. It's a toy. A great toy. Your child can still learn basics of playing piano on this toy. The color coded keys and songbook are huge assets. Take advantage of this cool piano, remember it's a toy.

Well built with great tone!
Extremely well constructed! I believe a full grown man could stand on it without breaking it... I don't recommend trying it though. It does have the child's piano sound to it, but that is to be expected. Besides my son, the musical composition graduate, loves it's sound and wants to use it in one of his compositions. Highly recommend!

First Christmas gift for my 10 month old
Althought this says 3 years and up, it must be for a random reason to do with safety perhaps? Nothing easily comes off, so no worries there. We haven't had an issue with it tipping, either. My son got this for his first Christmas when he was 10 months old. He is now 14 months old and still plays it several times a day. AND my 6 and 9 year old play with it, too! Neat thought: they play it because it's there, in the living room with all the toys. EVERY SINGLE TIME they start playing it, within minutes they have moved to our front room and they play the big real piano. So, it's a good thought - it inspires them to play the big piano. The countless keyboard toys we've owned over the years have NEVER had the same reaction. My son was a late sitter, late crawler and still isn't even close to walking. Although he recieves in home therapy, I'm not sure he qualifies as special needs, but he is delayed, and he loves the piano. It's not quiet, BUT it's also not an irritating sound that is too loud at all, not too high pitched, not irritating. Highly recommend this product. I see myself buying another bigger version in the future when my sons balance is good enough to sit on something unassisted. This is perfect size for a sitting infant/toddler.
