Match these wooden puzzle pairs to make mastering letters and their sounds as easy as A, B, C. The puzzles are self-correcting-each piece has only one match that it fits-so children can play independently and learn at the same time.

This alphabet wooden puzzle help kids learn the ABCs as they match letters to pictures. The ?self-correcting? feature refers to the pieces having only a single match each, which ensures that kids correctly fit them together to develop a sense of mastery. This set includes capital and lowercase letters. You can separate several interlocked puzzles into two pieces. There are several ways to enjoy the Melissa & Doug letter puzzle. Parents can ask their children to match an alphabet piece to the correct picture and identify the letter by name. Children can also speak the letter?s sound and trace over the lower- and uppercase letters with their fingers, and they can increase the number of puzzles as they continue to develop their skills. This Self-Correcting Alphabet Letter Puzzle is an exceptional gift for kids ages 4 to 6 years. Add the Melissa & Doug See and Spell Learning Toy to round out the hands-on play experience and give kids an engaging option for screen-free fun.

For more than 30 years, Melissa & Doug has created beautifully designed imagination- and creativity-sparking products that NBC News called ?the gold standard in early childhood play.? We design every toy to the highest quality standards, and to nurture minds and hearts. If your child is not inspired, give us a call and we'll make it right. Our phone number is on every product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Definitely NOT "Self-correcting!!!!" We received this "self-correcting" puzzle for a 2 year old. I loved it at first, but as my daughter did the picture-to-letter matching, I realized it was all wrong! The problem is that the way the puzzle pieces are cut is identical for EVERY piece!! That is NOT the definition of "self-correcting!" Each letter piece is SUPPOSED to match ONLY with the CORRECT picture!! This is a cost-cutting measure on the part of the manufacturer, I'm sure! When I was teaching, the alphabet puzzles I had of the same design were UNIQUE! They were CORRECTLY called "self-correcting!" Melissa and Doug, you NEED to FIX this!!! I'm so disappointed...!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great educational toy I got this as a Christmas gift for my 3 year old son who loves puzzles. The pieces are fairly easy to put together, and don't come apart as easily as the ones made of cardboard. This is a great set for teaching the alphabet, first words, and matching. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is one of the pieces has already broken apart, but I was able to glue it back together.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not self correcting Although this product was fairly cheap, I was very disappointed by the poor quality. The puzzle shapes were barely different and several of the letters actually do fit with the wrong picture., therefore not self correcting. The wood is cheap and flimsy. I would much rather pay more and get a quality product. Very disappointed Melissa and Doug:(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missing Pieces I realize that I purchased this product from a different site, but ultimately it is a Melissa and Doug product. My only complaint is that we were missing 4 letter pieces, but had doubles of 4 letters, so in the end we had the advertised 52 pieces, but we can't complete the alphabet because we are missing 4 of the letters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the colors and quality love how they came in a box that is easy to use and the parts match in different ways so that the children can't put the wrong ones together. The images are clear and spaced for easy counting and the parts are colorful and inviting.Having the parts made of wood they are sturdy and easy to use

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2 Yr Old Daughter Loves This Teaches my 2 year old daughter her ABC's. She loves playing with these and connecting the letters to the correct picture. She has learned what each picture and letter are.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not self correcting but ... All the pieces are the same shape so its not really self correcting. However, my 2.5 year old can still learn and that's what's important to me.
