Product Description Our popular preschool-friendly clock gets a cool update! A larger face, exposed natural wood, and pops of vibrant color on match-able chunky pieces make for a fresh modern look . . . but the classic play value and top-quality construction remains the same. Kids love the color-coded minute and hour hands that spin around with a simple push. (No matter where they point, it's always time for learning and fun!) Children can match the colors, sort the shapes, and solve the puzzle as they manipulate the color blocks and turn the hands, building cognitive and motor skills and laying the groundwork for learning to tell time. Activities printed right on the box encourage interactive play, helping children begin to master early-learning concepts as they gain familiarity with the form of a clock and concepts of time. The Melissa & Doug Shape Sorting Clock is made from smooth-sanded, solid-wood material and features rotating minute and hour hands, as well as 12 shaped number pieces that fit into recessed wells to teach fine motor skills, numbers, colors, shapes, and concepts of time. This Shape Sorting Clock makes a great gift for children ages 3 to 6. Add the Melissa & Doug Wooden Latches Board to round out the hands-on, screen-free play and learning. For more than 30 years, Melissa & Doug has created beautifully designed imagination- and creativity-sparking products that NBC News called ?the gold standard in early childhood play.? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best toys on the Planet I bought this gift for my 3 year old grandniece. She is out of school due to the pandemic and her mother was stressed keeping her occupied. I bought this clock and my grandniece is over the moon with excitement. She loves the colors and is having big fun putting the different shapes in their respective slots on the clock. She knows her shapes by their corresponding names and calls them out as she puts them in their slots in record them. Even thought she has conquered this goal of the toy, it is still her favorite toy. Now she is learning to tell time. My nieces can't thank me enough for introducing them and their children to Melissa and Doug. The kids are engaged and focused on conquering the object of the toys and games. Melissa and Doug are by far the best toy makers on the Planet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be careful with this We loved this at first, however with frequent use the top layer of wood begins to warp around the outside of the clock. It comes off in pieces creating sharp edges. Watch your child while they're playing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of ways to play The fun of this wooden clock is that kids can turn the minute and hour hands for time, they can count, match shapes, match colors and explore. I like that the 3 is a triangle with 3 sides, the 4 is a square, the 5 is a pentagon, the 6 and 8 are a hexagon and an octagon so kids can learn different shape names. I love the extension activities that are listed on the back. The clock is sophisticated enough to grow with the child for several years of interactive play.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't move like a real clock The hour hand doesn't move when you move the minute hand! My whole point of buying this was to show my grandkids how to tell time, and a really big part of that is having them move the minute hand and see how the whole thing MOVES! Now I have to show that on a real alarm clock I bought, and have them kind of compare it to this one. Extremely disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, I would buy this clock. This is the perfect clock for my granddaughter to learn all the shapes and to tell time. She already knows her numbers from 1-20. I will ask her to pick up the oval and she will get it. I'll then ask her to give me the name of the number that is on it. She will give me the number(7) and then put it in the right spot. This we do four times a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timeless play Got this for toddler grandson, age 2. Good transition from sound making shape puzzle. He's just mastered recognizing colors and is starting to count as well as naming different shapes so this enhances new skills while reinforcing the old. Like all Melissa & Doug products this is very well made and can past the test of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Advice Instead of triangle shape in 6 you can give the place on 3 like 3 for tri angle and you should add hexagon on 6 some important puzzles are missing like 1 shape is sort of butterfly you can remove it and oval can be shifted their and on 7 you can give heptagon.
