push and pedal with their first ride-on!

Whether they’re learnin’ to walk, how to balance or just want some wheels to scoot around on, little ones can have a whole lot of fun on ride-on toys. There’s a toy for every stage of toddler development that promotes encouraging and safe play in designs that include their favorite characters and interests so you’re sure to find something they’ll love!

When looking for a great ride-on, you want to consider their age and size. Some younger kiddos will want to be pushed around until they can do the pushin’ themselves, while others want to hop on and scoot. Let’s take a look at ’em both and see which one your little will love the most.

push ride-ons

Push ride-ons are typically for children ages 18-36 months. They’re made of sturdy plastic and come in a variety of styles, many with a large plastic handlebar that parents can use to steer as they play.

Some styles include a smaller handlebar for your littles to push around the ride-on when they’re not busy scooting around. Of course, there are styles that do not include a rear handlebar. This variety is for children who have already learned to walk and can focus on balance and coordination while at play.

pedal ride-ons

When they’re ready to learn how to ride on their own, a pedal ride-on is perfect! Littles between the ages of two and four can safely maneuver these ride-ons, and their low-to-the-ground design makes them perfect to practice on.

You’ll usually find these in a tricycle design so they can get comfortable using handlebars and pedals to steer and move. Pedal ride-ons are perfect for kiddos who are ready for the next step in their riding journey.

When you’re in control of the littles, they still get the thrill of riding, and included steering wheels give them the feeling of control. On their own, they can really start to build the skills needed to ride a bike when the time comes. Either way, they are gonna have a lot of fun!
