Encourage your child to ride with a Strider Bike. When learning to ride, a child must be allowed to experience the feel of leaning and how steering affects the balance of the bike. When a child learns to ride without leaning, such as on a tricycle or bike with training wheels, they aren't really learning to ride at all. With the help of a balance bike, the child can learn how to balance and ride a bike in the most simplest way.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Build quality is surprisingly cheap for the price The bike works for it's intended use but materials are pretty cheap for the price you pay. For example bikes have a "headset", it's the bearings the on top and bottom of the frame where the fork goes through it. With a properly installed and adjusted headset there's no play between the frame and fork and the rotate rotates smooth and consistent. This does not have any sort of bearing for smooth operation or a way to really make it snug. It uses plastic washers as the headset bearings which was disappointing. It's not a bad bike but after seeing all the good reviews and taking the price into account I expected more. It's not a real good value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Balance Bike! I got the Strider Sport (12") for my 2 year old Nephew "D", and he loved it the moment it was put together! Instantly deciding it was time to get on any play, as well as consider it his Motorcycle! He improves his skills in balance every time he uses it, and will probably be riding a bike by summer time with how well he's doing! I am considering getting the bigger Strider Sport for myself now! Considering it's been 18 years since I could last ride a back, and the last time I attempted to I had terrible balance and got scared! Great quality, awesome bike, quick to put together and just get up and move. I wish I could have had something like this when my oldest four kiddos were smaller!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality balanace bike! My son never wants to stop striding! He picked this up so fast! And my 5 yr old was riding a pedal bike at 4 without training wheels! Although she missed her strider so much we bought her another just for playing around. Both participated in the Strider World Cup, it was adorable and all my son has talked about weeks before and now he wants to practice every day to do it again (he just turned 3). We love Striders!!! My little guy goes down hills and just sails, his balance is amazing bc of this little bike, so I'm happy we'll be able to skip training wheels again:) my son wants to ride this from sun up til sundown, definitely worth it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this bike I bought this bike for my daughter when she was 18 months old at first she kind of just walked with it. By the time she turned 2 she was going all over the place with this bike I can't even get her off of it. The bike overall is built well and just a great bike for the price. I just wish I would have bought this bike for my 3 older daughters. the bike is really easy to put together and even better you do not have to have any tools to adjust the seat or handle bar. They also have lots of other parts to really give it a personalized look. I would recommend this bike to everyone that is looking for an awesome bike for there kids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 14 months old! We bought the bike for Christmas less than 1 month ago my son is 14 months old and is just starting to get the hang of it, as soon as my son wakes up it is the first thing he goes to play with. I really thought it would be a few months before he could hold it up and go by himself but it took less than a month, can't wait for the next warm day to head outdoors with it! Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing to work with for adaptations! I can't say enough about Strider!!! We have 2 little guys - 3 and 1. The oldest has a limb difference. I emailed their customer service, and heard back from Ann immediately. By the end of the following week, we had a bike arrive at our front door, complete with a modified handlebar. In playing with the adapter, he surprised us and there were a couple things we had to change. Ann reached out to check on us, I mentioned our issues/changes with the adapter. Two emails later, we have another adapter on the way. I'm absolutely blown away by the dedication and determination of Ann and Charlie to get my child rolling. Wow! I've spent so much of these first 3 years advocating for him to have the same experiences as other 3 year olds. This is the first time I feel like I have teammates on the journey!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 kids one srider: on pedals by 4 yrs and by 3 yrs Hello Strider, We love the balance bike! It’s awesome that the concept driving the first bikes, over 200 years ago, have come back for the wee tots. We have two boys, nearly five and nearly three, and both learned their two-wheeled balance on a strider. It was my vision that each kid would learn balance on the strider, and pedaling mechanics on a tricycle then the two would marry at the right time. Theo (born Jan, 2010) got his Strider for Christmas before he turned two and walked on it for nearly 6 weeks until he had his first glide – “weeeee” he said. He tried pedals (on a 12” bicycle) at 3 yrs. 5 months, and while he could do it, he wasn’t comfortable with it just yet. I borrowed the strider concept and removed the crank and pedals from that 12” bike, so that he could have a taller balance bike and so his 2 year younger brother (Owen, born Jan, 2012) could take over the strider (about 18 months). Theo transitioned onto a pedal bike at 4 years without ever experiencing the crutch of training wheels! Owen (adept at the strider, fully six months ahead of Theo), took to the strider practically instantly!! Just two months ago, having ridden a strider for over a year, Owen was exposed to a pedal bike. At 22 months old, I put him on a 12” pedal bike, walked with him saying, “pedal-pedal-pedal little guy, just like the tricycle” and he took off! He used his handle bar balance checks and rode a pedal bike, without training wheels at under 3 years!! He can also ride Theo’s 16” bike, albeit his feet are a good 6-8 inches from touching the ground, but he can RIDE it! I’ve included a video compilation (it’s 8 min but stick with it ;) of Owen’s bike-learning year. Oh, and Owen was born with a critical congenital heart defect requiring open-heart reconstructive surgery at 10 days old. He also has an underlying neurological condition affecting the stability of his eye muscles, so while he now has glasses to correct astigmatism and myopia, he mostly only uses one eye for all his antics. He pretty much goes all-in all the time, smiling! Thank you strider!! While there are other balance bikes on the market, I strongly feel that the design and engineering behind Strider is superior. It has the lowest minimum seat height yet extends high enough for an older toddler; with the narrower handlebar, smaller grips and light-weight frame geometry, it allows very small children to manipulate and maneuver the bike with little effort, more of a reflex than a process. I feel it is the best balance bike on the market. Mark Weissinger Moab, Utah http://youtu.be/NrCr_3nYkeE
