As seen in the movies, Buzz Lightyear drops down and stays motionless whenever people come near, and now he can respond to kid-friendly voice commands! Say, ?someone's coming! ? or ?quiet, go to sleep? and Buzz will freeze, drop and switch to silent toy mode, Just like in the films! He will stop moving and only say his classic toy lines when you press his voice sampler button. Say, ?okay. No one's here? and Buzz comes back to life with interactive voice and actions! This space Ranger also comes with a smart sensor. He knows if he's fallen and asks for your help to get back up when the coast is clear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Toy, but features cut This fantastic, movie-sized figure is made of light-weight plastic, but its mechanisms decently weight it. Twist (but no up/down) articulation exists in the shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, and neck. There are no knee or ankle joints to guarantee he will stand (for drop-down). You pull out Buzz’s wings manually, probably due to limited space in the chest with drop-down mechanisms. Buzz needs 2 fresh AA batteries, and his on switch is on the underside of his chest. Train him to your voice before the first play time. The drop-down is fun, and he has different responses to your 4 commands before dropping down. He’s even aware of when he is lying down and asks you to help him up. There are over 65 phrases across 2 play modes. In live mode, Buzz “comes alive” and turns his head as he talks directly to you. In “Toy mode,” he repeats standard Buzz Lightyear phrases. His voice is clear and at a good volume. Sadly, there is no flip-open wrist communicator, glow in the dark paint, laser (light, sound, or button) on arm, or name (Andy or Bonnie) written on the bottom of the foot, which were features I feel should not have been removed on a toy with a $70 MSRP. Additionally, there was no attempt to hide or blend the sensor into the design. It is a black hole in the middle of a light blue logo right on the center of his chest. *Note: It is strange for Buzz to have the drop-down feature. In the movies, Buzz does not fall to the ground around humans; he just freezes. Woody and Jessie only fall over because they are ragdolls that cannot stand on their own.
