Product Overview

This balsa wood model kit from Guillow's recreates the Grumman F6F Hellcat, the carrier-based fighter that succeeded the Wildcat and made history in 1942 when it decisively defeated Japanese carrier-based fighters in the Pacific during World War 2. First flown on July 26th of that year, the Hellcat was designed based on specifications from a large group of fighter pilots polled by Grumman Aircraft Company officials. In addition to its carrier-based fighter role, the Hellcat served with the U.S. Marine Corps as a potent fighter-bomber. Builders construct a realistic replica of this iconic aircraft using quality balsa wood components from the Paul K. Guillow Company.
