This adapter from Baby Jogger is made specifically for the City Mini and Chicco car seats. It is by far and away the most expensive, useless accessory my money has ever been spent on. Not only are the instructions very vague, but the images do not represent in any way what the final assembly looks like.

It's not that the unit isn't secure, because once you actually figure out how to put it together, your Chicco car seat will fit very secure. The problem however, is that you have to dismantle the canopy on the City Mini, rendering the stroller basically useless in any kind of weather.

Trust me, it is such a poor design and waste of money, that you too will kick yourself for not believing the rest of the negative reviews on this item.

Utterly disappointing. Truly.

Merchant response: From Baby Jogger - I apologize for the confusion on the Baby Jogger Car Seat Adaptors. The 51308 model Car seat adaptor is a Chicco Only adaptor that was released a few years ago and sold through June of 2012. We recently went through a redesign of our Car Seat Adaptors, merging the Universal and Chicco models into one Multi-Model adaptor. The Multi-Model adaptors began shipping in July of 2012. That being said, the Universal and Chicco adaptors will still work on all of our strollers and are in no way obsolete.

        I emailed Baby Jogger the product number for the Baby Jogger City Elite listed on the Babies R Us website (BJ13257) and they said the correct adapter for the Chicco infant car seat is BJ90121... not the one listed above. Do not waste your time and money purchasing this adapter as it will not work.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

          We love using the City Mini stroller and the fact that they created a carseat adapter for the it. It was pretty easy to assemble and works like a charm. You do have to remove the entire original fabric cover from the stroller, turning it into a basic frame in order to use the adapter, but it still beats buying a frame stroller or a bulky four wheel stroller that's super heavy and a pain to get around. Defintiely worth buying in my opinion, I love it!

                I registered for the car seat adaptor that goes with the Chicco car seat. This is not the right product. You can see the difference on baby jogger's website. I called to tell babies r us this and it still hasn't been updated on their website and I can't find this the correct item in stores either.

                    This is NOT the correct adapter!!! Do not buy this adapter. Go to Baby Jogger and look at the picture for the correct adapter. Babies R Us is NOT using the correct adapter.

                        I put the brackets in the bottom holes on the stroller and had to undo the top snaps of the fabric from the fame. It would be better if you didn't have to undo the fabric, but it's not a huge deal. The carseat snaps into place easily and is very secure!

                        This is definitely not easy to install. We tried, gave up, did more research and then tried again. I don't know what it's so tough but once we did it, it worked perfectly. The Chicco car seat fit perfectly and when I stripped the stroller of the seat, I had excellent access to the basket and an even lighter-weight stroller.

                        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                        This works perfectly with our Baby Jogger City Mini 2011 stroller and Chicco car seat. You just have to make sure you install it correctly! This can be difficult because the instructions are not completely clear. The car seat snaps in easily and is completely secure. You can lift up the whole stroller from the handle of the car seat. Very happy with this purchase.
