Description

Think fast. What word means "a partially dried grape"? Be the first player to say "raisin", and you're on your way to winning this riotous game of rapid word recall. Players take turns reading clues aloud, competing to blurt the correct answer first and move ahead on the board. The first person or team to circle the board is the winner. Sounds simple, right? But as the race for the right word heats up and the blurting gets boisterous, it's easy to get tongue-tied. Blurt is a great vocabulary builder for the kids, a hilarious addition to adult parties, and a must for a family game night. Includes a Junior version for ages 7-9.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected. I was really excited about this game but honestly it wasn't nearly as fun or funny to play as I expected. First, the ages are misleading because our daughter is almost 8, very bright, and it was too difficult for her. We did the junior version however because we are a wide age range playing it made it playable for her but way to easy for us. In the end we weren't legitimately competing because we had to hold off answering so she could have a chance. Second, it turned out to not be as fast paced and exciting to play but rather more thought provoking. I highly doubt we will be taking it off our shelves anxiously any time soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blurt! is a Blast! In a world full of video games and assorted electronic media, it can be very difficult to entertain kids without the use of the T.V. or a gaming console, but Blurt! is amazing! My kids play it over and over again! It's educational, addictive, entertaining, fun for kids and a blast for adults, too! I was surprised at how hard it was for me to come up with the right word for some of the definitions, so it really makes you think outside the box. My kids, on the other hand, surprised me by beating me to the answer! They all loved playing and challenging each other. I would recommend this game to any of my friends--with OR without kids!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great educational game This game is perfect for elementary children. It promotes practicing vocabulary and reading while keeping it fun and competitive, but not too difficult so that children lose interest. The clues/words were a little boring and too easy for us adults, but perfect for school age children. I would say this is great for families with kids. Also, the box states it requires 3+ players, but I was able to play it with just 2 players as well. We keep the game simple when playing with young kids, but add the bonus challenges with the adults. I haven't played the junior version, but the game rules describe another way to play while spelling and writing down answers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun for all ages! Great word game! My family and I just love this game. As a parent and teacher, this game can be used with kids and adults of all ages. The leveled clues are perfect for the entire family and for different learning abilities. The instructions give you ideas on how to modify and change up the game. Of course, my four year old wanted to play along with the big kids. I was able to easily "modify" the game to suit the needs of my family and choose the clues to allow her to easily play right beside her 12 year old cousin! In the classroom it is perfect for those extra minutes we sometimes need to fill while waiting for the bus call, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Competitive fun! I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of board games, but I've played this game a few times and it's one of those games that makes you want to play it again and again! It's very engaging and keeps everyone on their toes-ready to "blurt" out the word once the clue/definition has been read. It's great for kids and adults alike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blurt Blurt comes with the playing board, box of questions, and several colored game tokens. You have three players or up to twelve players. The object of the game is to be the first to move your token all the way around the board. You achieve this by guessing the correct word on the cards. You are given a clue to what the word is, and then you get to "blurt" out whatever pops into your head. The first person to guess the correct word will win the points and get to move their token. I was surprised at how many my kids knew. And even when they guessed wrong it was hilarious to hear some of the things they came up with. By the end of the game, they had learned at least twenty new words and we all laughed so hard our sides hurt. Its a great way to have fun and still learn something. This is an excellent games for kids and adults alike and would make an excellent gift. Complimentary product received.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Include Vocab in the Classroom! You may or may not have seen this game around - we were just looking at it in the store the other day and were contemplating getting it. Well - if that is you - then grab it! It is so much fun! Perfect for a family night, an evening out with friends, or even for a child's birthday party - it is hilarious. :) While I know so many of you have lots of places to use it at home, I can also see this game being a GREAT resource for the classroom - for learning! Educational Insights is awesome and has actually included ways to earn Bonus Blurts, Advanced Play Options, and Junior Version Rules too! I can see the secondary teachers using the advanced rules, and the elementary teachers utilizing the Junior version rules - that's one of the reasons I really liked the game! They do suggest in the Junior version for students to write their guess on a piece of paper (or I could even see whiteboards) and then they earn points if they were correct, spelled it correctly, or both. Probably a good idea to keep the noise level down as I can see the volume hitting high octaves very quickly with this game. This game would be great for an indoor recess activity or for other curriculum-related tasks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out of the box fun! Really enjoyed playing this game with my husband and 11-year old daughter. We sure learned alot of new words (especially my daughter)! And blurting out our guesses sounded pretty silly. We quickly switched from level 1 to level 2 for our family. While level 1 seems perfect for younger players, we found the level 2 words to be more challenging.
