Loved by many
I provide in-home daycare and am constantly on the lookout for fun, durable and educational toys. These fit the bill. Not sure about all those reviews with the smell issue, I am extremely selective about toys and there was no problem with these. Some were a little harder to pull apart at first, but they have been played with so much it's not really a problem anymore.

Should not smell and need to be washed
Nice but it has and Oder and the instructions say it needs to be washed before use. This doesn't make us too comfortable with the product in the hands and mouth of our 3 year old.

they smell like nail polish remover
I ran them through my dishwasher twice and the smell mostly went away. I hope the company addresses the source of this odor, as it is concerning (I hope it isn't harmful?) because this is a great toy otherwise. My daughter really likes to play with them.

Horrible chemical smell
Our two year old daughter loves puzzles. But when I opened the box, the chemical smell was horrible. It didn't go away at all after they were washed and/or put outside. The frosting and cupcake were difficult to pull apart and I don't think the shapes at the bottom of the cupcake tray assist them with learning shapes. Very disappointed in the product that she got for a Christmas gift.

Good enough to eat!
We use these sorters in our kitchen play area of the three and four year old room at our daycare. The children love them. Not only are they a great creative play toy they introduce mathematical concepts. The children gravitate towards this toy because it is bright and colorful but they don't even realize they are practicing sorting and shape recognition. We love this toy!

Awesome Product - Many ways to play
My daughter can play with these for hours. She loves to take them all apart and match them all back up. Then we will sit with her and ask her for certain color ones to help her work on identifing the colors. These are amazing and have multiple uses. In addition the learning the kids would LOVE to also use them in their play kitchen. Once a week it seems like we have cupcakes "in the oven" before we can play with them. They created these the perfect size for little hands, they can easily get a hold of them and do what they want as far as putting them together and adding them to the pan. I love all the amazing, bright and viberant colors that they used for these cupcakes. They make them fun and attractive to the little ones.

The smell. Wow.
Like the other user, I am amazed at the smell of these. You can smell them as you walk into the room and I did wash thoroughly. Made in China for the win.
