Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good build Good fun to complete this challenge. Lots of intricate pieces to place so you have to look very carefully at the instructions. An overall amazing product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Lego Set I have only discovered that Lego built sets that adults can proudly display. This was the second Lego set I purchased and it was a pretty simple build. The quality of this set was great and the instructions were very clear. I currently have this set displayed in my office cube as it is the perfect size. I only wish there were more pieces in this set to make it more challenging/fulfilling. I do think it's amazing how people come up with these designs. I've had no problems following the instructions to build the set, but I don't think I could have ever built one on my own.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea, poor execution This set has the potential to be a great but I feel Lego fell short on this one. I was really disappointed with it, especially being a New Yorker. The set is really small and for such an iconic landscape as New York City Lego should have made this set bigger with more detail. Take the Statue of Liberty for an example. It's just a little Lego dude and it isn't even in the right pose with the arm and torch lifted up. Not to mention it falls off the base with the slightest touch. Also, on my set the bottom base piece wasn't flat which makes the set swivel from side to side. They also had the facts about NYC worked into the instruction book which I think is a waste. It's interesting in sets like the GT3 RS to read as you're building it. But I think it would have worked better to have separate tiles in front of each structure with facts/history of each building always on display.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Miniature Represtations Overall I was very impressed with this set. Having missed out on the original Empire State Building, but loving my Flatiron Building, I felt I needed to pick this one up. I was impressed with the size and scale of the buildings and the color palate used. The Sand Green mini-statue is a fantastic addition. The SNOT techniques used to create the 3x3 base for One World Trade Center model were quite impressive and I will have to remember them. The instruction manual is where I was most disappointed. There were two errors in my printing that detracted from an otherwise well done product. One of the descriptions of the Empire State building was missing the English translation and another step during the construction of One World Trade Center called for too many pieces to be used (the part callout did not match the picture for the step). Otherwise a very neat model and a great addition to my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice profile of New York I am from the tri-state area, so I am a bit biased, but I do really enjoy how this set looks. The Empire State Building and WTC are the best. Chrysler Tower was a little bland, but it's the only rendition of this building in the Architecture line. One gripe I think is there could have been a smidge more detail, like little taxi cabs or something. I'm nitpicking at this point because it really is a great set, but I just feel the buildings are lined up next to each other and that's it. NYC is very linear, but it feels like of empty. Overall, great set and I'm definitely glad it's part of my collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but geographically not accurate [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this set as a gift and was really excited to build this. I have lived in NYC most of my life, so needless to say that I was a bit disappointed with the lack of attention to detail on the placement of the buildings. If you are going to put the statue of liberty surrounded by water then the next building should be one world trade, followed by the flat iron building, then Empire state building, then Chrysler building. I will have to rebuild this set in that order just so my OCD doesn’t spark up. Regardless, thank you for creating such an awesome set!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Average set - not worth the price This set is nothing from spectacular. They made an ok job at representing some of the landmark buildings of New York. The Empire State and WTC buildings are pretty good, but the others are poor and boring. It's not a bad set, but for this price, you can get something much better in the Architecture line - I would recommend the Eiffel Tower or Louvre.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Building order wrong for the skyline If Lego is trying to recreate the NY skyline, then the order of the buildings is all wrong. It should be (north to south), the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building, One World Trade Center and then the Stature of Liberty. From the photos, it would seem that it would be possible to change the order of the buildings on the base. If that's the case then no worries (unfortunately it will still be wrong on the box). Otherwise it looks like a great set, and I'm anxious for it to be back in stock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great build but instructions error I bought this for my son. He enjoyed the build but there was an instructions error as I’ve seen mentioned in a previous review of this product in 2019. I assumed the instructions error would be fixed by now but it’s still there. My son ended up realizing it was an error and got through it, but it did cause him some frustration. He enjoys the set though!! We are a Lego family so I know this isn’t the usual circumstance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing View First of all, this was my first purchase of the Architecture series from Lego. Therefore, I am not sure how other sets are built. Overall, this set is a very nice miniature of New York city skyline (although you cannot really see all these five structures from either rivers). Due to the size of the buildings, they are not very detailed as you would expect in their stand-alone versions like the Empire State Building, or the Flatiron. Also, due to the techniques used in the set, some parts of the buildings feel quite flimsy and easy to be detached. Lastly, I love how they represented the One World Trade Center, as the unique appearance of the building must have been hard to simulate. All in all, the set is very satisfactory, although more details could have been put in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty Frustrating We bought this for our ten year old son who has most of the items in the architecture series. He easily has done the much larger sets and many other Lego sets with thousands of pieces. This one was the first time he just lost interest and became to frustrated to finish himself. The problems are with the Empire State Building portion. The pieces fall apart easily as you assemble it and then the base part of the building does not connect with the tower portion. We rebuilt the bottom portion and the tower portion three times with three different people and same result every time. We had to use an extra piece from our own Legos to make the tower set on the base and even then it won't set centered. The other beef is that they really should have given a little more thought to the Statue of Liberty piece and at least given her a torch or something that makes her look like the actual statue other than just being green. We have done Venice, Berlin, Chicago, and all the different towers and this is the first time the set was a bit of a let down. Looks good from a distance now on his shelves but definitely not as great as the rest of the series quality wise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Reintroduction to LEGO This was the first set I purchased after being away from LEGO for about 7 years and I had fun building it. I personally felt that it was just the right size; not to big and not too small but perfect for display on my shelf. The buildings themselves came out looking better than expected which made the finished build that little bit more satisfying to look at upon completion. It wasn't overly complicated to build which meant that I wasn't left confused with some of the instructions which is what I was looking for after being out of it for a few years. I also enjoyed the book that was included in the set which provided details and history of the buildings included alongside the building instructions. Overall I would recommend this to a friend, even if they had never touched a LEGO set in their life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting twist on this theme. Interesting idea to offer these affordable sets that represent city skylines. Simple build, nice display piece. This set, I assume, is intended as a representation of the city and not an exact map of the city. A nice follow up would be a creator sized set of the Chrysler building. Thanks for another set in this true AFOL series. Well done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's up to you I liked half of this set. There were many interesting assembly twists. A plus that various buildings attach to the base in different ways. I am most pleased with the feel and appearance of the Empire State Building; it was fun to build. I would also rate the Flatiron as a success, though much simpler. What detracted from the set: The Statue of Liberty is actually in New Jersey, so having it as part of NY City is not a good choice. WTC 1 in the set is as unappealing as the actual building; I would assume any tourists who go here are there for a different reason than to see this monstrosity. The parts bags could have been packed with more thought- maybe sorted by building, to avoid having all the little blocks open at once. Recommended as a component of a collection, ZERO play potential.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stressful Build, but Looks GREAT!!! My experience with this set is "a little bad, a little good, bit of both..." First off, the price is right, and the finished result looks great! But from the moment I opened the box, I realized this would be harder than any build I had ever done... ...First, the bags are not numbered, and I do not have a large workspace for these projects since my coffee table has filled up with other builds, so I do not have room to knoll out pieces. As such, because I was constantly picking from every bag at the same time, it became very stressful finding parts. I would have preferred if each building was divided into their own bag. That said, despite the build being stressful, the finished result looks really nice and presents a nice representation of iconic locations in my favorite city, and has taken a place of honor next to the Apollo Saturn V. I would recommend this build, but be forewarned that it is a little stressful. That said, it is also amazing to see everything come together...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product This was a good product by Lego Architecture and I'm the first review. When you start to build it, you would thing that it will be small or what the yellow pieces are for. Those go in the WTC. I missed out on the Empire State building, so this is a nice replacement. I had to have this one on hold, otherwise I wouldn't of gotten one of them, the day they came out. I picked up all four of the new ones. I recommend all of them. They don't take very long to put together either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun, even for a New Yorker I live in Brooklyn but am in Manhattan almost everyday. My favorite well-known buildings are the Chrysler Building and Rockefeller Center, with the Empire State Building (ESB) and Flatiron Building as close seconds. I can see the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center and the ESB as I travel to and from Manhattan (it's amazing and I don't take it for granted). So, this set was a "no-brainer" for me to own. The pieces are unique and the set is really fun to build. The skyscrapers are a little unsturdy (several disassembled when the set tilted back into a box) but the pieces came off in chunks and were easy enough to put back together without needing to look at the instructions, and that's why I gave this a 4 block rating. I would recommend for older kids to adult due to small pieces. The end result is beautiful and fun to admire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome build! I've been eyeing the New York set for awhile and today I finally managed to buy the set. It's very nice and resembles NYC very well! I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoy it for what it is Having recently built the Empire State Lego, the same building in this set is a comedown from that exquisit and beautiful set. If you have the opportunity to build both, definitely assemble the New York City group before starting the Empire State Building, as the latter is fantastic, while the New York City is merely OK. I bought it just for a fun evening diversion, and it met that goal completely; assembly created no problems. There was a single missing interior piece, and several extras. Overall, a one-session delight and fun-filled project.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I am an avid Lego fan and I just got back into builidng sets as an adult. I’ve built and enjoyed the Lego architecture collection including the Paris and London sets. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this New York City one though. I was missing crucial parts that had to be ordered separately (thank you to Lego for being so quick and accommodating to send the missing pieces!) Then, when I continued to build, I was not able to complete the freedom tower because the pieces did not fit together according to the instructions. I tried everything I could think of including trying to see if I could use other pieces in different ways with no luck. I wouldn’t recommend this set, but I’m still a huge Lego fan and will continue to purchase in the future, I just wish I could have used this money to purchase something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Not So Big Apple This was my first architecture set and I didn’t think I would enjoy it that much because of the low piece count. I was pleasantly surprised with the finished model and really enjoyed seeing each of the buildings take shape. The Statue of Liberty seems like it’s not too scale and it’s hard to know what it is, but the other buildings in the skyline are completely recognizable. The Empire State Building and One World Trade Center are awesome recreations of the originals and the completed set looks great on display! Nice job Lego designers!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I love it! I went to New York for vacation so after I built it i placed it on top of the chimney to display it with my other New York souvenirs. The Lady Liberty is super small though I feel like it can get easily lost. I think she should have been a little bigger and should have been carrying the book n the torch it would be a lot better but I still love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but small Nice easy build. Would like Lego to offer larger sets of the same type for those eho would like bigger finished sets. This set is nice but given the ratio size lady liberty is too small. After the 007 build this was very easy. Still fun as I am hooked. I still cannot get over how expensive these sets are but understand the cost of R&D and engineering time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh Meh, I love the LEGO Architecture series, and should have probably started with this build. Very plain and very easy to assemble. I had to make myself take little breaks to feel like I was getting my money worth. The packaging was in really bad shape but I won’t hold that against the review. The One World Trade Center building was the highlight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for Lego archticeture fans My rating is initiated as a fan of the very nice and famous Lego architecture series. Normally I'm expecting very detailed models of famous or extraordinary facilities including an introduction in their architecture. Contrary to my expectations is Lego New York City only like a very rough overview or introduction and couldn't fit my standards. So from my point of it is a nice but expensive souvenir and I bought it for my son as he was coming back from his US trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I thoroughly enjoyed this build! Having just returned from New York, I was keen to get my hands on this build. I really enjoyed it. I love the Architecture Skyline range and this was my favourite. The Empire State Building is fabulous and i loved the mini Flatiron. One World Trade was really enjoyable too. I will build this set again and again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best skyline This skyline is so good. I love the WTC, Empire State, and the Chrysler Building. I am fine with the Statue of Liberty, it could be done better though. Also, it would have been cool if Lego could include the Rockefeller Center in this set too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Architecture set! I got this set as a souvenir and was really excited to start building. It took me about 2 hours to build and was pretty sturdy. The only problem I had was the Statue of Liberty doesn't Look any thing like the real statue. Other than that one problem it's a great set! Thanks Lego!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good set but a minor problem. This is an average build and an awesome set but has a minor problem. The twisting on the OWTC can be a bit better but I understand it is hard to do that with bricks. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this set and would recommend this to any fan of New York!
