Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rapunzel The Lego Twirling Rapunzel was easy for my 5 year old grandaughter to build and she really enjoyed the finished product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute but major flaw I just built this with my 3.75 year-old niece who has developing fine motor skills and zero instruction interpreting skills. I think a 5 year old with good 3D spatial reasoning could almost build this on their own. If they’re not good 3D thinkers, they’ll need help. The build is straightforward except attaching little circle pieces to a piece that rotates can make alignment difficult for little hands that rely on brute force rather than subtle shifts and consistent pressure. What ruins this set is the jewel dress and odd head shape. Rapunzel’s skirt is the bottom part of a large jewel and you can put her tiny upper into the jewel and cap it with the jewel top that doubles as a parasol. 1) the body doesn’t really fit well with the arms out and the wig on, 2) the jewel skirt has a narrow oval that inserts into the upper body which is tricky for small fingers compared to the usual large, firm attachment of Lego legs to bodies (maybe this is what all the Disney princess figures are like. This is my first princess set and I’ve never built a Friends set 🤷‍♀️), 3) the wig is hard to click into place—nothing like your usual minifig hat or hair, and 4) the jewel skirt does not stay attached at the bottom to the spinning platform. Rapunzel falls off when you get her spinning faster or just jostle the cube while cranking the key. I thought the big skirt would make attaching the minifigure easy for small hands, but a loose grip makes that much harder and then she just falls off. And poor Pascal has nowhere to attach! His alcove has a smooth base so he falls out when not-gentle hands turn the key or you even jostle it. He doesn’t fit on the platform with Rapunzel either, unless you shift her and then she just falls off anyway. Pascal is going to be lost if you don’t stick him to something random when you put it away.
