Good play with a small build
I bought this set expecting to take 5-6 hours to build. It took me 2 hours and 40 minutes to build, which was disappointing. I'm a geological specialist, so I don't have time to play with the set often, but these playfeatures are exquisite. Great for kids do they can get to the play, but the build time was sad. Mainly just bricks with no technical features

Be prepared!!
I purchased this Lego set for my daughter’s birthday. She loves legos and the Mario movie. Be ready to spend more money and buy the other packs so you can have princess peach to go with the castle. How can you have peaches castle and not include peach?! Yes it does say it in the box, but come on, just increase the price and have peach included!
Also be prepared to download the instructions. There are no printed instructions that come with these sets! We were at a place with no internet celebrating my daughter's birthday and of course she wanted to play with them right away. We opened the box and no instructions. Just a nice booklet instructing you to download the app and directions. Talk about a disappointed and upset child. But once we got home a week later, we were able to download the instructions. Then I had to let my child use my smart phone for quite some time to build. This is just ridiculous. These legos are already expensive enough but to not include the directions is absurd.

Ultimately disappointing
Was very excited there was going to be a Peach's castle built, but ultimately this set is capped by the digital theme. I wanted a minifigure scale (with minifigures) version of Peach's castle. This is not fun and disappointing to fans of both Mario and LEGO.

Great for expanding
Kept the kiddo busy for HOURS! It’s also great that you can expand as you choose within different courses in the Mario family. He’s still having fun with it 4 months later.
