NO ANSWER ON TOXICITY!!!
Our family loved these blocks. We purchased these several years ago for our son (around 2012), and have now pulled them out of storage for our daughter. We haven't allowed her play with them yet however, because Melissa and Doug won't respond to my question about whether these blocks are "NON-TOXIC" (i.e. made with some "natural wood" and not MDF which contains formaldehyde and painted with lead-free paints). I've asked twice. I've been ignored twice. I truly do like Melissa and Doug toys, they're innovative and practical. However, they have had recalls for toxicity in the past. It is extremely reasonable for a parent to ask a large toy company if their toys are non-toxic, especially since, NO WHERE ON THE BOX does it actually state "non-toxic". What I don't find reasonable is for Melissa and Doug to keep ignoring my question. If you can't guarantee they're non-toxic, just say so, and I'll pitch them.

Good blocks for imaginitive play
I got these blocks for my child over 3 years ago and they are still played with and enjoyed. They were made durable so that you can get years of play out of them. However I would have preferred that the box that they come with was sturdier because after the first month of use it started to fall apart and it cannot contain the blocks very well anymore.

Great blocks
These do not really fit together, which makes them different from what I want them to be. Having said that, they are a great value and are incredible in every way for what they are. If they 'nested' better, they would be more entertaining or useful to my 2.5 year old, she wants to build a BIG structure and then knock it down...

Bought two sets of these blocks and they were purchased to add to what we already build with. My two grandsons 12 and 3 build almost every time they visit. It is the little ones idea and he gets his brother to join who originally had the blocks to begin with. I always buy Melissa and Doug because I have trust in the product.

Great blocks for the imagination!!
These blocks are absolutely wonderful for building with an imagination and for balance practice! As for the review which states their 2.5 yr old has a hard time with them....that's why it's listed for 3 & up! Kids under 3 have a hard time balancing and building.....buy some Legos, dude! :} Your kids will grow into them.

The younger generation enjoy the buliding blocks and to have them in a set is almost impossible. Great for early development and I am delighted to have my own Wood Blocks Set in my home. My children will spend years with this set and is an alternative to the legos and hard plastic blocks.

Exactly what I wanted
I had looked for these blocks all over town and did not find them anywhere. After finding them here I was worried they might not be exactly what I wanted. Once they arrived I was very pleased. Not only were they what I had in mind but the price was great too.

Loved, but product broke
My kids (ages 3 and 5 now) love these blocks and play with them often. We've had them for a few years and I love how creative and imaginative they can be while building. They are great for tower and pattern play. Recently, one of the blocks split slightly

Fun for everyone.
Just like the blocks I remember as a child. They're irresistible for all ages. Bought for a 2 year-old, but her teenage and adult siblings couldn't keep their hands off! In terms of development, these are one of the best toys you can get for a child.

The blocks are just what I expected. Great quality, good materials and the painting doesn't come off. I would love if the blocks would come in a better container, not just a cardboard box. Something that could keep them orderly without breaking.

Block Set
This was a big hit with both the 8 year old and the two year old. Older child built impressive structures; younger child knocked them down, but also built a few himself. He also was happy to identify the colors...especially yellow and blue!

A Slow Start
My granddaughter is used to magna tiles and was less interested in building with these blocks than the ones she has at home. However, I will try to dream up some interesting things we can build together. We've only played with them once.

Old favorite! My grandson's father, my son had a set of these blocks when he was a little boy. 42 years ago. He played with the blocks for hours and now I am expecting his son the have the same satisfying play time as he did.

This is a great toy for a young child learning to construct
The blocks are colorful with assorted shapes and easy to handle for our 2 year old grandson who loves to build and sometimes throw things. Luckily enough not heavy to hurt anything. He seems to really enjoy playing with them

Quality Assorted Wood Blocks
This set of blocks is perfect for a growing 2 year old. The blocks are colorful and the assorted shapes allow for many varied creations. Quality materials will allow for many years of creating towers, houses, tunnels, etc.

I would buy this product again.
I have a six year old grandson who has built amazing structures with these blocks and a two year old granddaughter who loves to build towers and then knock them down. Very colorful blocks with a good variety of shapes.

Would definitely buy this product again
This is a very nice wooden block set. Pieces were smaller than I thought they were going to be but my grandchildren didn't seem to mind a bit. They had lots of fun playing with them. They are very good quality.

Perfect for my nearly 2-year-old grandson who is really interested in stacking and knocking things down as well as the noise they make when he dumps them out. He loves the bright primary colors as well.

My son loves it!
I got an eye on this toy since my year and half baby started making towers with very single toy he has and i wasn't wrong. He loves it. Mamas are so lucky having Melisa & Doug toys for our little ones.

Excellent for the creative mind

Look Closely at the ACTUAL Age Recommendation Before Buying
First, I'd like to say that I do not want to sound like those snotty, uppity individuals that mention completely ridiculous aspects about a product that they find displeasing. Lol give me a break! So I hope I don't come off that way... I just want to inform the editors (or product listers?) that the info they listed referring to age recommendations is inconsistent with the actual age recommendation the product states. I haven't purchased this product yet, but I really want to! Unfortunately, upon closer inspection of the photos used to advertise this 100 Piece Wooden Block Set, I noticed that in the photo showing the box that the blocks come in, it says "Ages 3+", whereas in the description on the website, it largely states "2+ Years". I just ask that you please fix this, so that the information you have posted on your website is correct and does not differ from the actual product's description. That being said, my son is 21 months, and I've been looking for the perfect block set for him! And I thought this was it... but I'm afraid the pieces might be too small for him. But I'm going to give it a try.

While this is for a gift that has not been given yet, the looks of it is very good quality materials. I know it will be played with lots of times and will be able to withstand it.
