Not interesting enough--not for independent play
We just received this for a gift, and our 9-month old daughter isn't a fan. She's only been crawling for a month, so we thought this would be fun for her to sharpen her skills and get a little faster chasing this around the room. We've found that it grabs her attention (at times), but she will crawl right past it for other toys as it's rolling around the room. We don't give her many battery-operated toys, so she might just be preferring her usual options for this reason.
I can see this toy being a good motivator for a much younger baby who hasn't started crawling yet, but even for a newer crawler (in my case), it doesn't seem to be that appealing to her.
I do LOVE that the volume level of the music is at a mild/moderate level, instead of being overly loud.
It's also the type of toy that a baby can't play with independently, therefore, a parent needs to be active with the operation of this. When the bee is removed on top, the base of the unit will remain in place until the bee is replaced to get it going again. Obviously, little babies will not know to keep replacing the bee on the very top to keep making it move around the room...just fyi.
It really is a cute toy though, but it's just not working out for us.

It's a great fun toy for many ages, but a little overwhelming
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great toy for kids that are learning to crawl and who are experiencing new sights and sounds. Unfortunately, my son was a little scared of the toy. Not really the toys fault, but it moves, makes noise, and has lights all at one time, so it's a little overwhelming for a child that may find the toy confusing. Our son had no interest in playing with the toy, so I gave it to my friend and her daughter LOVES it. Just depends on the kid I guess. Another thing to note is once it's on, it didn't seem to stop moving or making noise until you turned it off, which was a little annoying to me and my husband. Also, we have hardwood floors with lots of carpets, and it kept getting stuck. Overall a fun toy, but not for kids who may get overwhelmed by lots of sensory stimulation.

Excellent rattle, musical, and light up toy!
My little one and my 6 year old love this toy. We purchased it at 5 months old when our search for a light up toy hit a wall. This toy is amazing. I wish I had found it sooner. The bee is a perfect toy for the rattle/grip stage and the cloud adds the musical and light up element. My oldest loves how the sensor keeps the toy moving without crashing into almost anything. That being said it does tend to miss shorter items such as slippers and shoes on the floor.

Baby loves the bee

He will dance to the music, the lights are super fun, and plus the music doesn’t have lyrics or are nursery rhymes so they don’t get stuck in your head for hours. I love the different patterns the Bee can use and that the cloud doesn’t go far when the bee is removed. I have noticed the bee’s circle will still move pretty far after avoiding hitting the baby or other toys.

Best toy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy has consistently interested my kid for 3 years. We bought this when my older kid was a baby. She loved crawling and then walking after it. Even as a 3yo she still likes to play with this, dance to the music and run around it as it rolls around the room. Now I have a second kid who, at 4 months, loves to watch this thing and try to grab the bee while on her tummy on the floor. Excellent toy.

This was my sons favorite toy
This toy was my sons favorite toy, he got it less than two months ago. It no long moves and just does the same three chimes over and over. Pretty disappointing seeing as he’s only 7 months old, and never damaged it.

Fun for baby but seems to be frequently defective
We bought this for our son and he LOVES it. But at 8 months the circle pattern it does is not challenging enough for him to chase. We put it on the “snake” mode and it still only moves in a circle. Originally when we bought this toy it moved all over the house. We have changed the batteries and still it is not working correctly. Just curious if anyone else is having the same problem. Haven’t seen it in the reviews to this point.

This toy is adorable and so easy to use!

I love how its small and compact for her size and so cute with its colorful lights and buzzing sounds. She loves the bee and its teaches her so much. She knows how to take it on and off the little cloud the bee is on. I love it alot and so happy she loves it too.

Terrible
We received this item at our baby shower. We opened it and saw that the batteries were corroded and there was battery acid everywhere. We also found that one of the 3 sensors that the bee sits on was broken off. Very disappointed in this product.

Dangerous
Okay the thought was great, while it worked my baby loved it. I bought this not even two months ago, and it stopped moving correctly week 2 of owning. That was OKAY but a little aggravating. What is NOT OKAY is the fact the battery cover BROKE while my baby was chasing it. Sitting on the floor during playtime as normal and brought this toy out, it went around in circles for a little before a little piece of plastic, a tiny screw, the cover plate and three batteries fell out on the floor. My little one was sitting next to it just glad I noticed the tiny plastic piece on the ground before her. so now everything is in a bag and I refuse to buy another product like this. Wish I had read reviews first, the quality of this is poor! Baby toys should not break less that 2 months after buying, you need more testing on this before selling more! The fact it’s a common problem is scary.

Cute toy
It is very cute toy, but my 5-month-old baby does not really my attention to it. She likes to take off the bee and play with it, but she doesn't get excited to see the bee in motion. I guess, comparing to her other toys, that if the toy would play songs rather than melody, she would love it much more. But overall I'm happy that this toy is delicate, and I'm not worried of it banging her head.

Fun and cute
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my 4-month-old daughter to prepare for when she starts crawling. For now, she just plays with the bee and loves it. Sometimes, though, we will put the bee in the cloud and set it to roam around, and she loves to watch it move around. I just know she will have lots of fun once she is able to chase it.

Fun and engaging

Waste of Money
This doesn’t do any of the functions that it lists. In all the different modes, all it does slowly spin in a direct swivel and repeat the same noise every 2 seconds. I wish it worked like advertised because I was really excited for it.
I’ve never had a problem with SkipHop products before, so I threw away the box and can’t return.

Stopped moving!
We were given this toy as a baby shower gift and now that our little one is starting to try and crawl we got it out but can't get it to move. We replaced the batteries l, tried multiple types of surfaces and still no luck. the lights and music work but will not move. 1 month of play time is not acceptable for a 25 dollar toy!

Greatest Toy
This toy was absolutely a great buy. My daughter loves it. The music and lights amaze her and always attract her attention. I take it to daycare with her and even the kids there love it. They cry when i pick her up because they have so much fun with her and they toy. Would definitey reccommend to other people.

Excellent Stimulating Toy

I will admit that the first time he was a bit scared of the toy, but he has quickly fallen in love with it. He will chase it around the floor. It works best on hard surfaces with no rugs.

Love this toy

We got this toy as a gift for our 9mo and we ALL love it. It keeps him entertained and moving. I’m impressed with the little sensor because it really does try it’s best to not get stuck hitting things. Suuuuper cute toy design and fun for early moving little ones. Reasonable price too.

Baby on the move!
My baby is 6 months old and is ready to start crawling. I got her this to help her get moving and she loves it! She instantly wanted to go after it to grab it. It keeps her (and our cats!) entertained and she's already starting to make big moves after a couple of days of having it.

Best toy at the party!

Fun new "game"!
Our daughter is 8 months and loves watching the bee move around on his platform and trying to pick him up! I imagine once she starts crawling that she'll have even more fun with it. For now, she watches while she sits and catches the bee when he comes buzzing near her :)

Disappointing
So disappointed in this toy. Got it as a gift from our registry and the motor function never worked. It just keeps playing the same buzzing sound over and over again with no motion. Too bad our little one would have loved chasing it around as he is very active.

Awesome toy!
