Nosefrida "The Snotsucker" Nasal Aspirator

The Nosefrida "The Snotsucker" Nasal Aspirator is a safe and effective way of cleaning your baby's nostrils. The non-invasive design forms a seal outside the nostril instead of going inside. Then by the power of your own mouth, you can create the suction necessary for aspiration. The pieces come apart for easy cleaning.

Product Highlights

  • Non-invasive design forms a seal outside the baby's nostril
  • Parent-powered mouth suction is strong and effective
  • Pieces come apart for easy cleaning
Safe for baby
The non-invasive design forms a seal around your little one's nostril - instead of inside - to create the vacuum necessary for aspiration.
Parent-powered
Use your mouth to draw upon the mouthpiece end to create a desired suction that is strong and effective for clearing out your little one's nostrils.

Product Description

Nosefrida, the original doctor-developed and doctor-recommended nasal aspirator is the new standard in keeping babies naturally snot free. Ingeniously simple Swedish design features a tube that is placed against the nostril (not inside). Parents use their own suction to draw mucus out of their child's nose. Disposable filters prevent any bacterial transfer. Nosefrida is easy to clean, top-rack safe, and BPA and Phthalate free. It is superior to the bulb aspirator, presents no risk or harm to internal nasal structures and is dramatically more efficacious.

Let's get this part out of the way and into the open... the thought of sucking out snot with a straw is disturbing to say the least. The friendly picture of a mom doing just this on the front of the package won't do much to help ease your trepidation. In fact, the first time I saw this product I laughed and passed it by swearing I would never do anything so disgusting!

Plain and simple fact, your child WILL get a cold or two within their first year. Seeing that infants have very little in an established immune system that means lots of stuffy noses, snot and boogers that YOU will have to deal with. With a stuffy nose it will be difficult for your baby to eat and sleep as babies tend to be nose-breathers. This will mean lots of fussiness for the parents. When your child is producing what seems like gallons of snot, THOSE TRADITIONAL BULB-SUCKERS JUST WILL NOT CUT IT!

Out of pure desperation I bought the Nosefrida. I felt like the mom and baby on the front of the package were mocking me with a look of "We knew you'd be back." Now, I can honestly see why... This thing is AWESOME!!! If we look purely at results, the Nosefrida wins hands down compared to the competition. While its design is extremely simple, it is cleverly built in a way that prevents you from accidentally swallowing something from your baby's nose. It has a filter but in my experience (and I've had a lot at this point) the contents you remove from your child's nose very rarely make it that far up the tube anyhow.

The Nosefrida allows you to use enough suction to effectively unblock your child's nose quickly and safely. I was very hesitant at first as I didn't want to accidentally create so much suction in my son's nose that I'd pop a blood vessel or something. This was not the case at all. While my son generally doesn't want me bothering him with such things, I can tell that he's learned to know the sight of the Nosefrida means he'll be able to breath well again when its all done.

On top of all of this, the Nosefrida is very easy to clean. It seems to have a non-stick surface that allows a quick rinse with hot water to remove all of the tube's contents.

I don't at all think it will ever seem any less weird or disgusting to use the Nosefrida, but I otherwise have nothing but good things to say about it. BUY THIS!

It was tough using this product on my 6 month old. he hated it and would move all over the place because he simply did not want the tube up his nose. needless to say it was pretty difficult to use. I'm guessing its easier with both parents. one to hold the child's head still and the other to use the product. after I used it one time. I took it apart to clean it and for some strange reason the tubes dont fit in each other anymore. I have to either exchange it now or return it. sorry. but I've heard great things from other moms with older kids.

Comments about Fridababy Nosefrida ""The Snotsucker"" Nasal Aspirator:

My cousin, who is a pediatrician, first purchased this for me/my daughter after she was born. At first I was a little off put at the notion of how this little gizmo worked. I, initially tried it on my - at the time - 2 month old after nothing else worked (including the aspirator from the hospital, cotton swabs, etc.) To say I was AMAZED at how well the NoseFrida worked is a complete understatement! I will never use anything else - I actually purchased another to put in my diaper bag.

It can be a little unpleasant after use with the semi-transparent tube, but am glad that it's not clear. (The blue color does help tell me it's clean.)

The only downside is that my daughter who is now 8 months, typically, does not like ANYTHING to touch her nose, so it's not without a few whines. However, when she is in a REALLY good mood, she actually 'helps' hold it for me, no problems!

It is easy to use and works incredibly well. My baby was congested and the bulb sucker wasn't pulling anything out to give her relief so I tried the Nosefrida and was able to make her much more comfortable. The act is gross but it worked great!

Comments about Fridababy Nosefrida ""The Snotsucker"" Nasal Aspirator:

I had a hospital aspirator but this thing takes the cake. It's sorta gross to think of, but the filter keeps you from sucking goop or flakes into your mouth. You also get a better chance to get all of the crud out because you don't have to Keep squeezing and flushing a bulb, you just need to breathe! My little guy hates anything touching his nose so something that is highly effective and quick is necessary... THIS is necessary for every little nose! They should hand out these in the hospitals ratherthan a bulb aspirator!

Comments about Fridababy Nosefrida ""The Snotsucker"" Nasal Aspirator:

This gross little contraption is AMAZING!! I love this thing. It is one of my absolute must have baby items now. I was totally grossed out by it initially and really didn't think I could use it. However, when my little one got her first cold and I was desperate, it turned to the Nose Freda and oh my goodness, I was in love. Once you get over the initial fear of the snot you will become obsessed with it. FYI, there is absolutely no way possible to get boogers in your mouth using this thing. It is so much more effective than a bulb syringe that it's unbelievable. And I am a Labor and Delivery nurse so I KNOW how to use a bulb syringe well. This thing still gets out at least three times as much and is less traumatic to their little nose. I am pretty much obsessed with this weirdly gross and amazing contraption, it is a must have!!

This product is wonderful. At first I didn't think it would suction much mucous out of my daughters nose but surprisingly enough it did the work and some. The only bad thing was the intensity of how much I was sucking.

I was impressed with how much nasal junk this device extracts. It's definitely a far cry from the bulb thing that the hospital gives you to take home. I would endorse this product to other moms. I didn't have a complete success of taking everything out from the nose of my infant but I took out enough to make it comfortable to breathe.
