We went through 3 sippy cups and 3 straw cups and this is the one that our son finally learned to drink out of on his own without spitting everything out or gagging on taking too much in.

the other reviews mention the things we like about this sippy cup.

- Small Cup so that we can put it directly on his high chair's table and he can drink from it on the table (the other ones we tried were the tall ones and it was hard for him to manage on his own)

- Handles. Great cuz he can hold it in place

- To first entice him, it has a section on the cup that you can squeeze to get a little water up to the top. We did this the first few times to get him to understand there was water in there and now he's a professional.

- economically priced. we looked for other companies that had similar features and this cup was 1/2 the price of the fancy named cups out there

- don't have any complaints about cleaning. There's no science in it!

- spout closes so we can throw it in the diaper bag without worrying about spills

I thought this cup was a good idea since you can help "train" your baby to drink from a straw by squeezing the cup. I guess I should have given my son more credit because he got it immediately. I did like the small size of the cup and the handles, but one of the downsides of having the ability to squeeze liquid up into the straw is that for some reason the liquid seems to frequently stay in the straw, and then when the child inevitably drops it, the liquid goes everywhere. So unfortunately this one will be going back to the store.

My son is 22 months and has been using this sippy cup since 6 months of age. He has thrown this sippy cup thousands of times and it has never broken or sprung a leak. On the other hand the Nuby sippy caup has broken 2x when he has thrown it on the floor. In comparisson the Platex model is FAR MORE superior. Great cup, no leaks, cracks, spills and easy to clean.

I was excited to get this product for our son as he likes to drink from our straws. He likes the cup itself, but we dont because liquid comes up the straw itself - I am guessing its because of air bubbles. I had it on the counter and saw drops of liquid coming up the straw and couldnt believe it. This is the only and last of these that we will purchase.

    My son has a slight speech delay. His therapist recommended transitioning to a straw cup to assist with his sucking and mouth muscles. This cup has been great to teach him how to use a straw. It does not take much pushing on the side for the liquid to climb the straw to show the child that liquid comes out of the straw. My son quickly caught on and is able to drink from it with no problems. I am not sure what previous reviewer meant about liquid coming out after it has been sitting a while. I have three of these cups and have never had any kind of issue with leaking or unprompted liquid from coming out of the straw when it is sitting upwards. I will say that if it is very full and left upside down without being closed some liquid will come out of the straw, which is not totally unexpected.

    Initially I really liked this cup and it seemed like my son had an easy time using it. Once he learned how to throw it, tip, it, etc. I got fed up because it leaks all over the place. So, good for beginners but NOT once they learn how to tip!

      Got this as I wanted to avoid sippy cups due to issues with speech development with sippy cups. My 6 month old got the idea of using a straw with only minimal demonstration from mom. The squeeze part of the cup doesn't work very well but we didn't really need it.
      Easy to clean, no leaks, and easy to hold for baby. We love it!

          My 10 month old had trouble with the traditional sippi cup because he couldn't tilt it back on his own. He loves the straw design because he can just hold it in front of him and drink. The handles work great for him and it's easy to drink out of - we've tried other straw cups and I have a hard time sucking anything out of them.

          After reading the directions I have no trouble taking this completely apart to wash and putting it all back together again. It's been through the dishwasher multiple times and held up fine. We purchased more!

              Initially we loved this cup. Height & handles made it very easy for our son to use, and straw closure made it convenient for travel. However, don't turn your back on it. If you leave it sit with the straw up for more than a couple of minutes (regardless of the amount of liquid in it), the drink comes up through the straw and proceeds to spill a significant amount down over the cup and surface it's on. Definitely would not recommend this to others.

                  This is HANDS DOWN the BEST training sippy cup out there. We have bought EVERY SINGLE sippy cup out on the market and had to return all except this one. At first, I had to squeeze the water up the straw, then he got it! After showing it to the moms in my group, they all went out and bought one and came back with the same excellent reviews for it.
