I purchased this last week after looking online for play food that wasn't all "junk" like cookies. I was thrilled to find a set with the rubbery, squishy-textured bread that I played with as a kid. The bread, potato chips, tomato slices, and lettuce look very real. The peanut butter and jelly are hard and smooth on one side, and realistically textured looking on the other side. The hot dogs are the kind that can easily snap out of their buns, so you can pretend to make the hotdog. The pink donut and the strawberries lack detail. Of course, the milk/juice boxes are super flimsy, so I'll let my 3 year old play with them but not my one year old. All in all, very happy with this set. You definitely can't stomp on it, but you sure can have a lot of fun with it. (As a side note, the Just Like Home pretend vegetables that are sold separately in store are AWESOME and look real, even down to the shading and size).

I purchased this last week after looking online for play food that wasn't all "junk" like cookies. I was thrilled to find a set with the rubbery, squishy-textured bread that I played with as a kid. the deli shop was very cute and surprisingly durable. They give enough pieces for my 6 year old and my 3 year old to play together without fighting over pieces. The pieces are really realistic looking. I have also used this set as a teaching tool for my autistic children and developmentally delayed children because they are realistic looking and they are basic foods.

I was expecting excellent rubbery jelly, peanut butter, and lunch meat. Instead, everything was hard plastic! :( My daughter's friend had this set, but RUBBERY and so my daughter wanted it. Now she's crying and i am furious! Thanks a lot people! ( in other words i hate this product.) As long as i live, i will never buy just like home products or shop at Toys R Us again! Instead, i'll shop at [@]! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I agree with other review the meat, cheese and PB& Jelly are not made of same 'rubbery' material as our friend's set was who bought it previously. They are hard plastic; I like the 'rubbery' better.
