I love my Xbox! I'm a woman in my late 40's (married to a Video game generation husband) and I'm hooked on the following:
-Karaoke Glee and Idol
-Fitiness Evolved (training, jogging in London and African Dance)
-Dance Revolution 3

*Skyrim! I have been cracking-out on Skyrim as a "Nord man" (learned too late I could have been a female character, but I kind of like being a man in this game actually) for about a week now. It's the most complex and fascinating game out there. I'm hooked!!! Been referring to the internet for SKyrim world tips and lessons on Alchemy and tricks on how to deal with challenges in the Skyrim world (it's more than just a game)
Xbox provides a world of fun!!

Don't buy electronics from toysrus. They don't list it anywhere BUT their "no hassle" return policy does not include electronics. In fact, if you open it you bought it. Unless it's defective they will under no circumstances take it back. So if the xbox wasn't what you expected it to be, oh well.

Purchased this combo when it first came out last year. There is a version with a 250G hard drive but you dont need it unless you want to store photos and music on it, or download game content from online.

I have 2 girls ages 11 & 9, and 2 boys aged 7 & 5. Every one of them love the Xbox360 with Kinect. Xbox and Live alone are awesome (been on that since it was started years back), but the Kinect opened a whole new way to play. Works well in any sized room, and unlike the other consoles there's no chance your controller will fly out of your hand and hit the tv.

This thing even does facial recognition, so you can sign into the console just by standing in front of it.

Highly suggest the Sports games (bowling, soccer, pingpong, track-n--field), the Arcade (skeeball, darts, football pass, hoop shot) for any age 5 to 80. My in-laws are 75 and like to play bowling and skeelball with the kids when they babysit. The dance games are awesome for my 11 year old.

The adult games are coming of age very quickly with Kinect as well. Being a Jedi Rocks, Football is cool. Zumba fitness keeps you in shape without paying for a gym membership.

Great HD playback of DVD's & music. Has a cool graphics screen that you can display on the tv when listening to music.

The real beauty is the Live service. The Gold is worth paying for, but Free Silver still gets the job done. You can stream Netflix and Music right off the console, as well as do Facebook.

With Kinect you can Video-Chat with your friends as long as they have a Kinect or video camera hooked up to their Xbox too. If not, then you can have an audio-only chat. They also have a Live-Party which is like a giant conference call with your firends. You can play a game with the party still on and you dont hear each others games. Does not have to be the same game either. Kind of a fun way to spend time with each other without having to leave the house. I think you can watch a movie with party too but I have not tried it.

A few pointers: have plenty of light. A dark room is not gonna work with this. Lights have to be in front of you to light up your face and front of your body. Pull the shades as sunlight could also be a problem. And take the time to fine-tune it. It makes a big difference.

My 5 year old is kinda short and the system has trouble with his small frame sometimes.

The cat walks thru the game field alot and the system ignores it. Had a dog over too and the system ignored it as well.

Bottom-Line: BUY THIS. You'll love it.

Since purchasing this unit. We have found out the if you have the 4 GB Xbox, it will work to hold about 20 games or so. Unless you have the Kinect.. then, the Kinect software will take up most of that 4 GB. Meaning you could maybe save one game, but that's it. You'll have to start a game all over every time. We've had to spend another $100 to get the 250 hardrive to add to it.
