I read reviews after purchasing this product because my Grand-daughter wanted it from Santa. The price was right...I had to buy 2 cause she has a baby sister a year younger 2 & 3yrs..Others complained about how loud it was when you buy it but when you take the tape out it is soft spoken. It's a phone.. They play like it's up to their ear talking to them..In my opinion-I don't want to hear it. They only need to hear it when it's up to their ear..That is what a phone is..Thank you--they love this toy..

I have read ALOT of reviews about the sound being to low maybe they have fixed the problem after seeing bad reviews but i got ours sept,2012 and the sound is great I can even hear it in the kitchen when she is playing with it in the living room plus how load do you want it? it's a phone that will be up to your childs ear.

My daughter loves dora, and loves this phone. The reason the phone isn't super loud is because you're supposed to put it against your ear. It is actually a postive thing, unlike many toys that children hold against their ears.

What good is a phone if you can't dial or hear it? This toy does nothing. Oh wait, you can push on the pink number pad. Big deal, how much fun could that be? The rest of the phone has NO function. The sound is SO LOW, I mean REALLY LOW that only a dog could hear it. Worthless!!! If I could give it zero stars I would.

My 2 yr old daughter received this as a birthday gift. She loves Dora and was excited to open it, but lost interest very quickly. She keeps telling me "It's not working mommy!" It does work, but it is so quiet you can barely hear it and it doesn't do much at all. She has other Dora toys that are great, but this one is really a dud.

Like most girls, both my daughters love Dora. I thought this might be a nice little toy to keep for shopping trips. A hit in the store, but once you take it out of the box and remove the tag, the sound gets very low and is barely audible. It becomes pointless. Took it back.
