The Indexed Sizing System adjusts for a perfect vertical fit when walls aren't level and the Integrated Tuning System allows for quick and easy width adjustments with pre-set index positions. The quick release wall mount allows the gate to be removed and replaced quickly for high-traffic times or entertaining. Use it virtually EveryPlace™ in the home - top of stairs, bottom of stairs, or between rooms. The double locking system on the integrated handle is easy for adults to use, but difficult for a child. The two-way opening gate locks shut with just a simple push and the extra wide walkthrough allows for easy in and out access.

We use this gate at the top of the stairs and love it. I don't have to worry about my 3 year old tripping over any bars while walking through it. It looks nice and works great!

Solid build quality, but bad color.

Good quality, well designed. Horrible wood color, the box lies. Size is only adjustable by 1/2 inch increments. It needs to be designed to adjust to 1/4 inch increments.

Loved the gate at first...

I WANT to give this gate 5 stars. I am using it in my hallway downstairs and I LOVE it. There is no bottom bar to trip over. It's VERY sturdy. I like that it doesn't swing closed on it's own. I can keep the gate open when my hands are full of laundry and the baby is asleep! The latch has a loud click, so I always know when the gate is securely locked. The gate swings both directions. It looks nice. And it's fairly easy to remove if I don't need the gate at all. It installs with six small screws. When the kids grow out of it, it should be easy to patch the drywall.

HOWEVER, I bought a second gate for the top of my stairs/upstairs hallway, and it can't be properly installed. I have a chair rail at 36" above the floor. In order to install the gate you have to hold it flush against the wall and slide it (down) into the brackets. The chair rail prohibits the gate from being held flush against the walls. I WISH this information had been in the description. I've thrown away all the packaging. Now I'm stuck with an expensive gate I can't use.

One last note - the hinged side of the gate MUST be installed into a stud. This wasn't a problem for me, because I had a good deal of flexibility in location.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great gate! Sturdy, hardware mounted for added security yet easy to quickly remove if needed. Prefer to fill in three holes from mounting than to repair damaged walls from pressure mounting. No lower bar to trip over. Easy to install. It looks great and worth the price, especially if have a coupon/find it on sale.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
