I own an electric pump and 2 other manual pumps. I didn't have any luck with those and a friend of mine recommended this one. I used it with my 2nd and 3rd sons and plan to use it this fall when boy number 4 arrives. (The same pump. It is pretty sturdy!) It was easy to use and clean. I have used it with exclusive breastfeeding and without. I always got plenty of milk either way! I have a bottle for it that takes bags which made storage super easy and room efficient. I freeze the bags flat and store in my deep freezer in a plastic shoe box.

It takes forever to pump any substantial amount and the suction is weak. In one sitting (5-10 min) I pumped almost one ounce.
Good news - it is easy to assemble and easy to clean/sterilize

I HIGHLY recommend this pump. It is so COMFORTABLE. It is so EASY TO ASSEMBLE. It is so EASY TO CLEAN. It is so FAST. Its suction is great: SO MUCH MILK. It doesn't make ANY NOISE. It is EASY TO STERILIZE. It comes with parts to replace. High quality too! I leave it on my bed side at night. When I wake up and my breats are full I don't even have to turn on the light. I grab it and pump and go back to sleep. My husband, sleeping by my side, doesn't even wake up, that's how fast and silent this pump is. I can pump 6 oz in less then five minutes with this pump and only with a few squeezes. And, based on what I see my friends going through with electric pumps, this pump is so much more practical. Trust me: don't get the big-complicated-full-of-tubes-and-motors-and-pack ones that need electricity and lots of cleaning and a special bra, etc. Get this manual pump. I even put it in my purse and carry it around. At coffee houses I just put the nursing cover on and pump underneath it! I pump in the back seat of the car while my hubby is driving! It is INCREDIBLY GOOD, EASY AND PRACTICAL. It is AWESOME!

I use this product every other day and its just okay. I purchased this pump from another store on sale for a cheaper price and boy am I glad I didnt dish out that much money on it. It is cheaply made and sounds cheap while using it. Way different suction than the Medela manual pump I own. It still functions as a pump and I do get milk but something about it is not right. Purchase it if you are really that broke and have no other choice or if its a last resort. But otherwise, I think you can wait and invest in a better manual or even electric if you choose to do so.

When I began pumping, I was using an expensive Medela electric breast pump. I found that I had to spend at least 20 minutes with the double pump to get the amount of milk I wanted. I work in a busy Emergency Room, and I don't have that kind of time! A friend told me about the Avent manual pump. I love it! I noticed that I have let down a lot quicker, and even though I have to pump one breast at a time, it is still quicker than the electric pump. It is also more comfortable than the electric pump, and it is much more portable. I have retired the expensive electric pump, and now use this one exclusively.
The only negative thing I would say is that there are a lot of parts to clean. But, I find that the spead and ease of pumping makes up for that.

It is very easy to use and clean. From all manual breast pump i liked this one the most because its seemed comfy. If you are breastfeeding and need occasional pump from time to time than this is good for you. I would still buy this one before baby comes. For me the first day the milk came was just the worst day of my life. I had such a large pressure that i need this and it helped me relieve pressure. I was also a breastfeeding mom so i only used it a couple of times.

i use an electric double pump but bought this to keep in case i needed to "relieve" myself and didn't have my pump. the first time i used it was on the way home from a wedding and it didn't seem so bad. i went back to work and have been using my electric pump at work. i forgot a part i needed at home earlier this week but remembered i had this manual pump in my car.

i used it that day at work to pump milk and must say i will not use this again. it's actually pretty efficient for a breast pump when it comes to getting milk. HOWEVER it tore my nipples apart and was very painful. i had to keep pumping to get milk for my son but it came at a cost. it's a day later and i'm raw and sore and in pain. i will not use this again. maybe others will have a different experience but this is just not good for me.

oh, it also made a noise every time i pressed the hand lever! loud.

I needed something that is portable, cause I'm a travel light person. Decided to buy this on top of my twin electric pump.I thought I was just gonna use this when only out of the house, but, no... I find myself using this more than my electric pump. It's easy to assemble, though it leaks some but don't they all? This makes me more mobile. One drawback, ait squeaks.

I am an exclusive breastfeeder that just needs to pump every once in awhile. It's been great for that purpose. It gets out double what other pumps have and it simple to assemble/disassemble and clean. It does leak a little milk but what pump doesn't? Great product.

I got this manual pump with my daughter 6 years ago. I had problems with inverted nipples, and this was a big help in drawing them out. It was super comfortable, much more comfortable than my electric pump (NOT an Avent pump). It was easy to take along and easy to use on the fly, in the car on a long trip for example. Then we could pull over, I could slip in the back with her and feed her while we went on with our trip.
Like all single, manual pumps, it's not great for use while away from baby at work, it would take too long to get enough out. But for use around the house, to help with supply, it's great.
