Listed set includes a tumbling machine with heavy-duty motor, rough semi-precious stones (including amethyst, jasper, agate and others), grit, polish, jewelry settings, glue and instruction manual. Ages 10 and up.

Comments about NSI International 1012089 Original Rock Tumbler:

I'm on my third one of these in over 20 years since I have no space or need for a large tumbler.
I've read some "reviews" that were obviously by someone who doesn't have a clue about the process.
When used as it should be, tumbling for adequate times and then changing grits and tumbling more and then doing a final polish with polishing beads or other polishing media these are great. They do tend to leak after a while if you don't "vaseline" around the outside edge before putting the lid on or if you don't lock the lid down tightly.
I mostly use mine now for tumble polishing and work hardening wire jewelry and use a second barrel for sand and water tumbling glass to make fake sea glass for my jewelry work.
I also made a "sound box" with a cardboard box and salvaged egg cartons which cuts the noise down quite a bit.
Have some fun and be patient!!! This is not a quick process.

Comments about NSI International 1012089 Original Rock Tumbler:

What a complete waste of time and money. Yes the rocks get smooth but they don't get shiny at all. You spend aprox. a month from start to finish with the end results being worthless. My advise, go to the rock store and buy some already done.

Comments about NSI International 1012089 Original Rock Tumbler:

I was really doubtful that the rocks would change formation, etc. I was also leary about keeping it plugged in and ON for 48hrs. I took the chance and "wow" what a nice surprise. We kept it in the laundry room because it makes some noise. It was very safe to keep on overnight. The results were exciting. The kids brought the rocks right to school to show all their friends.
