I bought this as a present for my 10 yr old daughter this Christmas. I had looked at wooden xylophones but they are more expensive and the range of notes were small. This has a lovely two octave range. The colors are pretty and the notes are marked. It is clear and easy to play. I would have liked a small booklet of simple tunes to come with it. We used a simple tune book we had at home. Any music your child has for recorder or other instruments should be good to use too. I recommend this purchase.
