We gave this to our 2 year old. The pieces come apart to easily and don't stay in place well. I was very disappointed with this toy. The adults are spending a lot of time helping to put it back together, just to do it all over again.

Ok first off It is obvious that the heads come off! But if you look closely or your child is like mine and is curious you will find out that this is because the bodies are made to come apart!!!! Because in addition to getting a fun train you are also gettting an additional learning toy! Yep you heard it here first! THE ARE MADE TO COME APART at the head and waste so that your child can learn about matching up and putting together bodies! For exampke you can play a game of "lets build Caillou!" " which part is Caillou's feet the red shoes or this bottom with the dress bottom and shoes? Which part is Caillou's tummy, and now head? Or lets be silly and mix them up! It's even more fun when you have the other tube characters and can mix up Caillou and Gilbert Ect. So I find it SAD that there is a rating so low because it is pretty evident once you take apart all three pieces that its almost a 2 in one game! A train set with Rosie and Caillou or a fun mix up game where you can teach your child how to match things up,or use there imagination and make up silly mis-matched characters! If there is a fear of losing parts... Hot glue or super glue them! I did that with a set we recieved a double of so that she had them for that particular set. Or get a small container to keep all of the pieces in and keep them put up in there if the child needs supervised while playing.Every one who comes to our house thinks this is the cutest thing ever! And it doesnt appear it can be broken by over winding!

I bought this for my daughter's birthday. I actually paid $40 from [...]- I wish I would have seen it here first. Within 24 hours she had broken off the knob that makes it go. So now it won't run. Which doesn't really matter, I guess, since it doesn't work on carpet, and the only hard floor we have is in the kitchen. The heads also keep falling off and while they pop back in easily for me, she can't do it herself. And the pieces are hard plastic, so I know they are going to break off eventually and the heads won't be replaceable any more. This has the quality of a $10 toy - you're paying for the Caillou name. I also don't understand why it has "Ruca" written on the box, the flag, and the train. Kids who speak English are not going to understand why he is called something else in other countries.

This is a cute toy. My two year old loves Caillou and was very pleased to receive it as a birthday gift. The only problem with this item is that the heads of Caillou and Rosie are very easily removable. My daughter had the heads off within minutes of opening. Now, the heads are missing and the toy is not near as fun. I wish they did not come off at all!
