This set is perfect for a first dino set. It has different dinos in varying sizes. Just be aware that the count includes lots of rocks and palm trees.

This large bin of dinosaurs is not really that large..it is a great idea though and since my kids love bins of things it is perfect. The dino's look way bigger in the photo. They are small to medium size. None as big as the typical ones you'd find at the dollar store. I do like this though for the accessories. My son loves rocks so he will love the fake rocks. I have not given this to my son yet but did open it to check it out and the innitial smell was horrendous. A gross chemical like smell. I normally do not get bothered by plastic smells because I know it just wears off but this smell was a little concerning to me. My son does not typically put things in his mouth so I'm okay with it but for someone who doesn't get to bothered by that, it bothered me. I would also say it's priced a tad high in my opinion. No one else is offering anything else like it so I say kudos to Animal Planet. I would still recommend unless you are offended my unnatural chemical smells.

My fiance and I got this for our daughter for Christmas, and she absolutely loved it! So did her Dadda. They played for hours when she first opened (mommy eventually had to join in the fun)and she's played with it everyday since. She enjoys grouping them together and setting up the trees and rocks on the playmat that came with the tub. She also took out her dinosaurs whenever "the dinosaur show" came on. This was one of our best purchases considering how much you get with it, all the dinosaurs, rocks, trees "mountains" and a mat to play on with a tub to store it all in. It's great for family time or just when you want to watch your little one use their big imagination!

We searched high and low trying to find "good" dinosaurs. Once we received the Animal Planet Big Tub of Dinosaurs, this was it!

The dinosaurs are a good size for my 2 year old and he loves to bring Brachiosaurus with us wherever we go.

We tossed the "mat" that comes with the set as son as it was opened as the play mat was not something that we would use and did not appear that it would hold up well.

Many of the dinosaurs seem to be in "families". There is a larger dino (dad), a slightly smaller (mom), and an even smaller dino (kid). My son really enjoys the fact that the little ones can go places and have interaction with their dino parents.

My daughter loved this tub of dinosaurs, she actually got two. the problem i had was the fact that the tub was sent to me damaged, i don't want to purchase a product and have it sent damage, that is unacceptable, especially when i receive it on the 23rd and could not return it. the edge of the tub was broken and jagged, that could cause harm to a 2year old,why would Toys R Us think it would be ok to send out damage products is beyond me but otherwise everything else was great, only reason 5 stars wasn't given.

The dinosaurs in this set are great. I have no problem with a dinosaur set coming with trees and rocks. My issue is with calling it a 40 piece set and only 20 of them are dinosaurs. There are 12 rocks, 6 trees, and 2 volcanoes. The play mat isn't included in the count which is good because it is really thin won't last long. My son loves it and the quality is good, I just wish it had more dinosaurs instead of so many rocks.

I used this for a dinosaur themed 5 year bday party. To save money on a cake, I got a plain sheet cake and used the included smaller dinosaurs, volcano, trees and rocks to make an amazing cake! Now he loves playing with them all.
