I used this stroller when I was a nanny, and it is incredible. It was one of the first things to go on our registry now that we are expecting a little one of our own, and I was ecstatic to find out today that someone bought it for us!! Honest to goodness, if I wasn't nearly 8 months pregnant, I'd be turing kartwheels I'm so excited. For those complaining about the sun shade not being big enough, I disagree. The sun shade is very large. I honestly don't know how you could ask for a bigger sun shade in a compact stroller. When you're out in the sun with a stroller, you should be ready with (a) a hat, (b) sunscreen, and (c) a lightweight blanket if needed. No stroller can be expected to completely keep the sun off of your child - that's not what they're designed to do. And, yes, the canopy will break if you try to fold the stroller with the canopy open. If you want a product to last, read the instructions so you know how it was designed to function. Don't blame the product for user-error.I can also vouch that this stroller is not overpriced in any way. The family I nannied for bought their Maclaren Triumph used off of [@]. And you would have never known. It's incredibly sturdy. Some of my favorite features:1. Height. At 5'3", I have to lean over to use one of those cheap umbrella strollers. And I have to walk funny if I don't want to kick the wheels. No so with this stroller. My husband is 6'2", and he can use the Maclaren just as comfortably.2. It RECLINES.3. It has a basket! And it's a pretty roomy basket for such a compact stroller.4. Easy to use. It's just as easy to open as any other umbrella stroller.5. Easy to clean. 6. It's SAFE!! The 5 point harness is so much safer than the stupid dinky straps in most umbrella strollers.7. Ever seen someone fighting with an umbrella stroller because the wheels got turned around? That doesn't happen with this stroller.

I purchased this stroller mainly because it was lightweight and I've heard Maclaren is a good brand. After 6+ months of use, I can say I am disappointed. For the price, it is not good. It's well made, but it's a bumpy ride. It shakes my son all over the place. My biggest problem is the size of the canopy. It's tiny and useless. It doesn't cover hardly any of my son's body. I had to lather him up with sunscreen every time we went for a stroller ride because the sun beats down on him. A pro is it's very easy to break-down (I can do it one handed), and it's very lightweight. It's a decent stroller, but it shouldn't be this price. I went ahead and bought a Britax B-Agile and couldn't be happier. It's more expensive, but worth every penny!

Comments about Maclaren Triumph Stroller - Black Scarlet:

I have a large 3yr old (37 lbs and 40" - just turned 3 last month). We are going to Disney in a few months and I needed something for the trip. Went to my local TRU and they did not have one on display. I talked employee into opening one for me and bought it on the spot. So glad I did because it is the only umbrella stroller I have found that my son actually has room to grow. Well worth the money! I have never been a fan of expensive name brand strollers but I swear by this one. It was obvious to me that I was going to have to spend alot to get something meeting my needs. Got this on sale so it's definitely worth it. I would happily buy this again.

Use this about 4 times a week with a pretty average size toddler. He can get into it without any problems. One gripe I have is how easily it tips over with anything on handles. Fabric does come off to hand wash if needed, except canopy which is spot clean only. Super easy to steer and extremely lightweight!

Comments about Maclaren Triumph Stroller - Black Scarlet:

I personally love this stroller! It's very sturdy, light weight, folds nicely, wheels turn on a dime, handles great and wonderful. I can easily push this stroller around and I'm 5 feet tall and my husband who is 5 feet 11 can easily push this stroller around. Although I would agree that the sunshade doesn't cover much but it doesn't bother me since if it's too sunny or cold I can just use a blanket to cover or put a hat on my child. The baskets are a good size for an umbrella stroller and you can easily buy cup holder attachments if you need it which I never did since I would just put my bottle of water in the basket. I compared other strollers and there is nothing that moves like the Maclaren plus this is the one my 3 year old said was the most comfortable. Love the fact the max weight is 55lbs compare to most light weight strollers that max out at 40 pounds. This is actually my second Maclaren Triumph stroller purchase since I have two kids now and I am planning on a trip with my husband and don't want a double stroller. The Maclaren I purchased back in 2008 was to replace my bulky travel system and using that at stores with tight aisles was wonderful! My 2008 stroller is still in excellent shape with no problems whatsoever and I use and abuse that stroller daily for everything! It's holding up like a champ and that is why I decided to purchase another one for my second child!

I'm very petite so I was looking for a lightweight, but durable stroller for my first child. I came upon this one and while it didnt fit her until she was around 5 months old, it has worked wonders since then. Its VERY lightweight, stylish (I bought the pink color) and durable. She seems comfortable in it and it doesnt break my back taking her places. Exactly what I wanted.

I registered for this stroller based on reviews and the Maclaren reputation. The canopy does not provide a lot of shade so I don't use it for outside walking, but do take it on errands. I used maybe once a week for about 4 months and the canopy bent. I called Maclaren and they are sending me a replacement canopy for $55. Apparently, you must fold the canopy before folding the stroller. They said it wasn't covered under warranty and it's stated in the manual. I am just disappointed with the stroller and the customer service. It's basically an over-priced umbrella stroller.
