Boasting 27 different seating positions complete with Quick Connect, the Modes Duo Stroller has been an essential addition to our adventures. The stroller is supplied with two toddler seats, the bench seat, and standing platform for a variety of choices in use. My twins are 35 inches tall and 29 (13.1kg) pounds, easily meeting the 50 (22.7kg) pound weight limit for all the seating positions. The black and white design of the stroller canopy and cloth seating covers is an excellent gender neutral option. The seats are gently padded and extremely soft black breathable material with soft grey piping accent. Each toddler bucket seat has three positions for the shoulder harness that is easy to adjust as the child grows to meet the 45 inch (114.3cm) height requirement. Each seat also has a recline option adjustable with a snapping buckle and 4.5 inches of nylon webbing. The seat fully reclines to approximately a 45 degree angle for a semi-recumbent sleeping position. I found the weight of the stroller to be similar to other in line double strollers. Changing the position of the toddler buckets is simple, a thumb lock pressed gently unlocks the seat buckets permitting quick changes to any of the eligible positions. Likewise the use of infant bucket seats with the Click Connect feature is the same as applying and removing the infant seat from the car seat base with the red latch at the back of the seat. The bench seat is unpadded plastic making it an easy clean of any messy spills. Seated position on the bench seat is kept safe with a three point seat restraint. The same connectors for the infant bucket and toddler bucket seats transition into a set of hand grips for the bench seat by gently pulling the connector away from the stroller body and twisting. Mixed seating options include use of two infant buckets facing away or toward the operator, facing each other, or one facing out and the other facing the operator. The same positions are available for the toddler bucket seats. Using a single infant bucket with a toddler bucket allows the growing family to accommodate both children. The use of an infant or toddler bucket seat facing out or toward the operator in the front position allows an older child to sit on the bench seat facing the operator of the stroller. Likewise an infant or toddler seat facing out or toward the operator allows an older child to stand on the standing platform facing away from the operator. The toddler buckets also fold flat for storage and allow the stroller to collapse flat for transport or storage. Collapsing the stroller with the toddler buckets both facing outward is easy so they need not be removed from the stroller for transport. I have, however, found the collapsed height of the stroller with the buckets installed to be 24 inches tall versus 12.5 inches tall without the buckets installed. The collapsed length of the stroller is 36 inches long allowing it to fit inside the trunk of a compact car. The collapsing mechanism is a one handed operation, sliding a button on the handle and a small twist engages the collapse function. When collapsed the stroller has a pressure lock on one side, clicking when engaged. To open the stroller from collapsed position a small amount of pressure is applied to the stroller body and the pressure lock is disengaged for full opening. I would recommend applying the foot brake prior to collapsing as it makes reopening the stroller easier when the rear wheels are locked. The front wheels are large 7.5 inch swivel wheels with locking options. There are two sets of rear wheels, one set of 3.5 inch swivel wheels and a set of 8 inch stationary wheels. This combination gives the stroller excellent maneuverability for the size. Corners are easily navigated with one hand push action. The wheels are designed for flat terrain such as sidewalks, asphalt, and graded flat dirt roads. The storage basket is flexible nylon and runs the length of the stroller at 30 inches long and tapered at 12.5 inches tall at the deepest point of the basket. While the baskets have several snaps, it cannot be removed from the stroller for cleaning. There are a total of five cup holders on the stroller, three of which are removable, the other two stationary on a center bar dividing the two seating positions. Two of the removable cup holders are on the toddler tray adapters for the toddler bucket. The trays feature a bar running the width of the seat and a cup holder but does not have activity or eating space. While I did receive the Modes Duo Stroller at no cost for product testing, the opinions expressed in this review are my own. For future releases on this stroller I would love to see additional accessories available for purchase such as a tray table with cup holder and activity table for the toddler bucket seats and toy attachment bar for babies. The canopies on the stroller system are removable and the option to upgrade to different colors as well as mesh canopy options for warm and hot weather would allow end user customization. Assembly of the stroller was extremely easy and the option to have wheel upgrades to all terrain tires would allow adaptability to outdoor recreation. The seat covers for the toddler bucket seats are currently fixed on the system, upgrading these to removable seat covers would allow easy cleaning of messy spills such as diaper blowouts. The ability to remove the center bar would allow full recline of the toddler bucket seat in the rear seat position when facing the operator. The foot rest is currently in a fixed length position which does not accommodate children with longer legs. Adding snap locks for extension would allow adaptability as the toddlers grow into older children. The foot rest moves up for folding and stowing when the toddler buckets are not in use. The ability to utilize this as a positional lock would accommodate a sleeping toddler's legs and ease of use for medically complex children in need of additional leg support.

I bought the original Modes stroller when my first daughter was born four years ago. Loved that Graco made it both rear and forward facing with different options for use. When I saw that they have a double stroller for my newborn and my preschooler, I was very excited as I have had great experiences with all of my Graco products so far. I didn't even think to have my four year old sit in the seat before purchasing because I assumed that the measurements were similar to the original. Well, you know what they say when you assume. I assembled the stroller this past weekend and was excited to use it. I discovered very quickly that my preschooler who is only 30lbs and of average height, doesn't fit comfortably in the seat. Her head is hitting the canopy and the foot pad is useless. (And not that the foot pad works for her in the single Modes stroller but she still has quite a bit of height before even thinking of having to remove the canopy.) I am torn on putting her in the bench seat because the goal was to have a double stroller where she could sit in a seat for a period of time still before switching her to the bench seat. I noticed that the seat height isn't listed on the product description which would make it tough to know. However, surprised that if the stroller can hold up to 50lbs that the seat wouldn't accommodate a larger toddler. Couple other items that I noticed weren't as thought through compared to my original Modes stroller. The bar with the cup holder between the two seats is a pain. Makes it hard to put stuff under the basket. The original stroller has two and a little area to hold a snack whereas this only has one cup holder and nothing to hold a snack on the bar across the seat. Also, on the original there are two cup holders for the adults along with a locking compartment on top. This stroller has neither and the cup holder for the adult is on the outside of the stroller. If you travel at all, I wouldn't recommend putting it in on as it will probably get messed up or broken. I ended up using one the cup holders in the bar in the middle. Overall it is a sturdy stroller and easy to use once you figure it out. It is a little heavier but I expected that when we tested it in the store as well as how it is configured. I would have given it four stars if the seat fit a larger child.

Look for another stroller

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

Loved the idea of this stroller. Unfortunately the seats are rather small, the foot rests aren't adjustable (if baby falls asleep her legs can't be propped up like other strollers) and worst of all it's embarrassing to use due to the very loud noise it makes. I purchased this over upgrading my baby orbit to a double and regret it.

Not wowed by this stroller

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

I had a Graco double stroller a while ago after I had my 3rd son. It was easy to use and surprisingly not heavy. So when I became pregnant with twins I automatically chose Graco again. I selected this model because it seemed very versatile and I liked the options. Well I wished I did more research. The front click attachment keeps folding down when you try to attach the car seat, so I find I have to insert the seat very slowly to make sure the flap doesn't fold. This middle arm bar is just in the way. I have zero use for it. Actually makes it impossible to access the basket with 2 seats attached. The seat arm bar I wish had a tray like my old Graco stroller and there is no where for me to put my things. Especially because the basket is so difficult to access. And the adult cup hokder keeps falling off. I do like that I can attach 1 seat and that it is super easy to maneuver. I mean it serves it's purpose but the features I feel to not measure up to expectations. I would have settled for s more simple stroller with access to the basket and trays. It's s shame because we have Graco EVERYTHING.

Incredibly noisy!!!!!!!

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

Stay away!!! We can't say this any more bluntly.Unless you plan to use this on a **completely** smooth surface then the 2 wheels under the standing part make so much noise that it's impossible to have anything approximating a quiet walk. Our son who sits in the back portion nearer to us has trouble sleeping due to this. And people in front of us on the street turn around to find out what all the noise is that's behind them. Do yourself a favor and don't get this piece of junk. We ended up having to buy another double stroller from a different manufacturer to replace this design disaster that Graco calls a stroller.

Super noisy !

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

I purchased the stroller a few weeks ago and have been using it with my 22 month old and 10 week old. I like that my car seat snaps in my toddler loves riding the board. That's about all the positives, the stroller seems super bulky, there are no trays for the kids or a area to keep Keys and your phone for the adults. The cup holders for the kids is not wide enough to fit all sippy cups and the worst is how loud this stroller is! I live in a prettt quiet area and I'm pretty sure everyone knows I'm coming a mile away from the sound of the wheels. Sometimes it even wakes my daughter up from a nap. Debating on returning the stroller because I can't take the noise.

Bulky

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

We bought this stroller thinking it would make transporting our 2 year old and newborn a lot easier. We loved that there were so many seating configurations and that it would fit our already purchased snugride click and connect. Boy where we wrong our car seat was a different model thank the stroller. This was a big bummer. We decided to not return it and keep the stroller because we love Graco products. We recently purchased a Honda Pilot hoping it would be able to fit the stroller. We were wrong again. The stroller is very bulky, even with the removal of the seats and canopys the stroller did not fit the trunk. For the price you pay for this stroller you hope to be able to use it on trips but if it cannot fit into your vehicle and it just sitting in our garage collecting dust.

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

Bought one for my 3 yr old and infant but my daughter does not fit in the seat she is 36 in and weighs 33 lbs and has to hunch to sit in the seats and her feet hang off the foot rest and the bar in front is to close to seat and wpuld be nice if it was more of a tray instead of a bar but love that it fits my infant carseat and like the sit n stand my daughter uses that cause she can't sit in the seats and the wheels under the platform make it noisy unless going over a smooth surface and its also really heavy even when the seats are not on it

Disappointing! Like a wooden roller coaster!

By Mom25

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

I bought this stroller while pregnant with my second child because I loved the Graco Modes Click Connect Stroller. I tried this out at the store and found it to be easy to maneuver when turning, etc. Unfortunately, now that I have it home and I have used it outside (which is where one would use a stroller), it's horrendous. The board that a toddler can stand on has small wheels underneath, and neither the board nor the wheels are removable. I didn't realize that when purchasing and wouldn't have thought to ask. It's quite possibly the bumpiest riding stroller I have ever seen. It is also the loudest stroller I have ever seen. Both problems seem to originate from the small wheels on this standing board, which I don't even want to use. The sound and bumpiness of it really reminds me of the old rickety wooden roller coasters. Having spent so much money on this stroller, I am very very disappointed. Unfortunately, you can't return a stroller used 3-4 times. I do not recommend purchasing this.

First time double stroller purchase

By ykieuy

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

I recently bought this stroller due to needing one that can take on a newborn and a toddler. I absolutely love how there are so many riding options to place my kiddos but I am disappointed that my toddler is unable to ride comfortably in the seat. It says that it holds a child up to 50 pounds which she is only 32 pounds but she istall making her head hit the top bar of the seat. Wish I would have known or else I wouldn't have purchased this one. We trust Graco products and have everything Graco until now. The stroller overall is strudy compared to many others we looked at but I just wish the seat back was a tad bit longer/taller to hold my toddler without her having to bend her head to the side.

Short seats with badly placed metal bar!

By eesscott

from Undisclosed

Comments about Graco Modes Duo Double Stroller - Play:

As we are expecting our second child, I was very excited to get this stroller with all the different ways it could be configured and that it fit our current Graco carseat. Unfortunately, the seats would not fit my 18 month old son. I was hoping the other reviews about kids not fitting were incorrect, but unfortunately my 18 month (28lb) son would not fit. There is a metal bar that goes around the top of the seat and it hit the top of his head. He sat there for a few minutes and wiggled his head back and forth before creaking his neck to the side to get underneath it. Very disappointed in the design of this. If the seats have a 50lb weight limit (which is the other reason we bought it!), they need to be able to accommodate children who are that size. Not being able to fit a 28 lb toddler is ridiculous. I will say, the stroller was super easy to put together and actually came back apart pretty easily too since we have to return it.
