I cannot believe the low rating on this pump. I purchased this when my baby was 4 days old & have been using it for the last 3 months. I am able to get 5oz's first thing in the morning in 5-10 mins. In the evening if I give baby a bottle instead of nursing I'm able to pump 4oz's in 10 mins. Using a double electric pump takes almost double the time & that's pumping from both sides. I find that it's easy to clean & dries completely within a few hours.

This was easy to use easy to clean, it was not loud, so I was able to pump while me and my husband were watching tv. the fact that you can pump into the pods directly is a major plus to me as well as the fact that it is easy to use a bigger pod if you want or a smaller one. It was as comfortable as you can expect breast pumping to be. lol. I am very happy that I went with this one instead of any of the others.

Wow! Just wow! I am impressed with this little manual pump. I bought this tonight after my beloved Breastflow pump finally gave out. I had heard good things about manual pumps, so I just grabbed this one at the store. I tried it out in the late evening, and I got 2 ounces effortlessly. That is really good for me in the evening. With my old pump, I would not have gotten much more than a few drops this late. I normally have to pump after the first feeding of the morning in order to get a full bottle. I think the wide mouth on it is a nice fit, and it really feels like the real thing. Because of that, my milk let down super fast, and it took me little time to get a few ounces. I love having control over the force more than I do with a regular pump (I've tried medela before, too and wasn't a big fan because they hurt). I feel like this one is more gentle, and, therefore, more effective. I love how discreet this one is with no noise. I love how I could throw this in a bag with no worries about batteries and pump on the go. The handle is easy to use and fits comfortably in my hand. Surprisingly, it did not tire out my wrist to manually pump. I read other reviews, but I did not have the problem with leaking. Easy to use, easy to clean. Great product all around!

This is a great little pump. I need enough milk pumped to send my baby with his father two days a week, so I pump daily (1 or 2 times per day) in addition to nursing, and this is the only pump I use.

The pump took a bit of getting used to, especially because I didn't want to have to pump at all, but after 10 months of daily use, I can say that this pump works very well. I have tried electric pumps too (Medela), hoping they would go quicker/easier, and sadly they do not work for me. I had to purchase smaller nipple shields to make them fit, (so apparently I have small nipples), and they still don't yield the same results as the manual. However, I did learn from the electric pumps that a slower pumping action works better than fast (i.e. hold the suction for a couple seconds, then release).

I've also noticed that sometimes I need to pump from different angles to get all the milk (i.e. so my breast is being tugged a bit to the left or right, etc). I also use a combination of the manual breast pump, and simple hand expressing. I find I often need both to get all the milk.

This pump is very portable. The soft shield is comfortable. It doesn't make awkward loud noises if you're pumping within earshot of other people. If you're looking to save money on pumps, it is totally possible to use this one on a regular basis. It does take a bit of committment and dedication though, and it can be a bit of a pain in the butt to clean, because you really should take it all apart each time, especially remove and rinse the soft valve, but all in all, I recommend this pump.

I am a mother of 4. I have breastfed for a total of 38 months (as of this month) between four children. This is by far the WORST breast pump I have used. When I first got this the suction on it was really horrible. I called and they we're nice and sent out a replacement part. Then I noticed that a part of the pump was molding. The offered to send me out another. I am throwing this in the trash. The WORST pump I have ever used. Save your money!

With my first son I had issues breastfeeding and gave up quickly using the medela manual pump, so i determined not to have the same outcome again. I shopped everywhere and finaly settled on Tommee Tippee for my bottle needs. I accidently melted my pump sterilizing it at my mothers house (her microwave was more volts than mine at home) but i took it into toys r us and they ordered me a new one and even let me hold onto the old one till the new one arrived. The complants about it being messy, i found that as long as you are sitting up it doesnt create a mess and is comfortable. And i found teh suction much more comfortable on the first three months of toughing up my nipples. I get about 4 oz of milk for the 15 min of pumping and it has worked out at about the same speed of my actual feeding. And on the complants about the valve. I am on 3 months of using it regularly and it is fine, but i have 2 spares and they say to replace them in the manual. But I love this whole feeding system and cant wait till me new one is big enough to graduate to the next stage.

I normally use an electric pump (medela). It had an issue with mold so I used this since it was on hand. At first, I thought it did well (though my pump session was significantly longer than normal and the suction was noticeably weaker), but I now believe that was because I'd missed a pump session. When I used it again, I realized just how bad the suction was. I ended up hand expressing into the pump--I still had plenty of milk. It just wasn't coming out with this pump. This just struck me as being a particularly poor product.
One positive note about the pump is that the shield/cup did seem more comfortable than those hard plastic types.
On another note I LOVE the Tommee Tippee bottles. It's just the pump I don't recommend. I wish I paid attention to the reviews on here instead of buying it to match the bottles.

I bought this when I bought the bottle system and microwave steamer since I mainly pump and use a manual one when I am on the go. The pump is ok - I get decent suction unlike the other reviewers and I have not had any "mess" that they mentioned. However, the valve part ripped after 1 week of use since you have to tug it off. Now the pump is useless unless I can buy another valve. I used to use the Avent manual pump and found it more comfortable. The Tommee Tippee pump has a hard plastic breast shield and other pumps have a softer more pliable one that works better.

This pump was horrible! I registered for the pump because it fit the bottles that I had selected. I had not read any reviews about the pump before I chose it and I wish that I had. Like other reviews I have read I too had trouble with the milk being sucked through the air tube. This happened instantly and I had to stop pumping several times to clear the tube. After 30 min. of pumping I was only able to get about 1/2oz. of milk. Very Disappointing! Fortunately a friend of mine let me borrow her Medela Dual pump. I returned the TT Pump and bought replacement parts for the Medela to use for myself. This pump is amazing! After about 10min. of pumping I have 4oz. of milk. It is a much better product. I would recommend Medela as an alternative pump.
