I got this board for my 3 years old son. He loves to draw and write ABC's and numbers and we went through lots of paper. I did not listen to bad reviews.

This board is great. Crayons are not messy at all. I love the colors only wish there is more than 8 colors. It is very easy to wipe it off on white side of the board. It does need little harder press on black side, but to me and my son is not a big deal. He absolutely loves it. First day we draw over hour what is way too long time to sit for my son :-). Every kid should have one.

Our young grandkids love this board. The bright crayons look almost fluorescent on the black surface. The foldable wipe-off mitt is a good idea but tiny hands do have to apply a bit of pressure to erase. The crayons do flake some, so it won't be as good of an in-car activity as I was hoping.

The crayons are messy. When my son is using them they get on everything. His hands are full of whichever color he has used, and there are markings if he left the crayon on anything like the rug or couch. The erasing cloth doesn't work easily for children. You really have to apply pressure, which I don't think many kids are that capable of.

Suggestions:

Only allow kids to use while sitting with a mat or cloth under them so nothing gets damaged. In addition, I wet the cloth a little - which makes it easier for my son to wipe clean.

My 2 boys, ages 5 and 2, seemed to like the dry erase board and crayons. Very durable. The included mitt was easy (for me and my 5 year old) to wipe the board off. **My son left a crayon in his carseat one day (3 hours) and it MELTED all over the carseat!! VERY hard to clean up!! He ruined a pair of church pants because of it, even after washing them-and his carseat is now yellow!! So, best to use them in the house, away from heat...or the sun!!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
