My search only came up with two options for food grinders at Babies R Us. I have to admit I chose this one because I liked the way it looked better. It works pretty well. It's easy to clean. It just requires a little more force than I anticipated to get some foods through--foods like peas that have skins on them.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Green Sprouts 1011236 Green Sprouts Baby Food Mill:

With our second child I had the KidCo food mill and LOVED it. You can practically stick an entire chicken breast in there and grind it up easily. We gave it to a friend, then bought this green one for #3. I used the KidCo food mill to make everything for our 2nd, whatever we were eating we would just grind up to feed the baby. Why I don't like this product:

Barely grinds anything harder than a canned pear. Definitely not useful for apples or meat.

Does not "crank" well. Also needing to adjust the tightness of the handle.

Does not dissasemble easily, need to use a fork EVERY time to get the crank out of the bowl.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
