The game itself exceeded our expecations. Our 5 year old can play it and loves changing his characters. The problem--and right now it's a big problem is that I won't pay $80 on [@] for 1 character. This is a kids game and it should be for kids--not collectors or people trying to make a buck by buying out the stores as they restock.

Very upsetting....I ordered this for my son for Xmas. The shipping address was incorrecto. I made 5 calls to Toys r Us. Each time they attempted to correcto the situation but ended up not being able to change the shipping address to the correct city & State. Every time they told me to Hold for a manager, they were all unavailable. Needless to say...I never Got the item!

We love it! Our whole family gets involved with it, and we range from 2 years old to 34 years. The additional charachters are fun but not a must. They are pretty easy to find as well. You don't have to spend a lot on them. You can get through the game with the ones it comes with. There are other areas you can open with some of the other elements but you can get them from all stores that sell skylanders. The special editions are the ones that cost a lot.

When my son unwraped this as a Christmas present, he fell apart! He actually unwrapped the adventure Pack Darklight Crypt first. He then knew that he got the starter pack. He then looked in his stocking and found Sonic Boom. He thanked me a million times. He started playing as soon as we set up our PS3. Overall great product.

The game is fun but the whole concept is a money scheme. Just a few days after purchasing the starter pack my son "needed" another character! At [$] a pop it can get pretty expensive as there are 30 some characters! Don't buy it if you don't wanto to spend additional money on it. Also the characters are difficult to find, you can buy on [@] for more than they are worth... Quite a marketing scheme if you ask me.
