My son received this as a gift Christmas 2012 and he was in love the moment he got it.

You can build the tracks according to the instructions or you can build your own track. And all this Thomas trains fit on the tracks!

We are in the process of gluing the track down as having a smaller child who destroys the tracks is rather upsetting after just putting it together.

The only thing I've noticed about how tracks are that the pieces are very tight. Not that they lock in together tightly but it almost feels like there isn't enough room for some of the pieces and so I had to pretty much force them in. And that is just with following the instructions. Oh well, doesn't stop my son from playing with it for hours.

I was beyond impressed at the quality of this product in comparison to the Thomas set. The quality was as good or better and you got WAY more for the dollars. My grandson LOVES it as do children of friends of mine. Well packaged - all pieces mostly individually wrapped to protect them. Everything very well marked. Instructions very clear and concise - easy to follow - great pictures to follow. Very easy to put together - I did it by myself (and I'm 53 years old) and it took about 1.5 hours - but it went by fast. It wasn't difficult at all. All that was needed was a screwdriver (the allen wrench was included). LOTS of additional pieces - cars, trains, trees, tracks, car cleaning station, train station, "parking lots" for the cars - even wooden "people"! Sounds are wonderful as well when the train goes through the station and the doors open on the train garage. I can't say enough good things about this product. I'm SO happy I didn't spend the money on the Thomas set. I did buy a Thomas Train to go with it and it is compatible with this set - all of the Thomas trains and individual addons will go with this set (if you want to pay the $$$$$ for them). Imaginarium has several additional pieces/parts/addons also (very reasonable). I bought an extra 3-car train and it was $5.99 (as opposed to $15 for the Thomas). I would actually give this 10 stairs if I could! This is the first review I've ever written - but this one was a review that I definitely had to write!!! Thank you Imaginarium/Toys R Us for a WONDERFUL and AFFORDABLE product that I could afford to purchase for my 3 year old grandson!

First, we were very disappointed that our local store didn't have any train tables in stock and we weren't able to physically preview what we were buying. It would have been helpful to play with the sets ourselves to compare the quality, features, and compatibility with the Thomas train sets before spending so much money. We bought this table unseen and had to rely on the online opinions of others. Even the sales person and manager at the store had no first hand knowledge of what train table sets would be best suited for the Thomas engines. For an item of this price, it would have been nice to see it first. This was purchased for our four year old son's birthday.

Putting the table itself together was not a problem but some of the accessories wouldn't stay together (for instance, the roof of the bridge keeps coming apart and the battery case has to be taped shut). The tracks that have any incline keep coming apart, causing derailments.

The Thomas trains do not work well on the tracks, as the wheels are set slightly farther apart. This causes some problems going around corners. The train set that come with it work great! My son really enjoys the train wash and the round-house.

In summary, the train table itself is solid and has a roomy drawer. If your child will only play with the train set included than it is an "ok" buy. If we had a choice, we would probably return this set and keep looking but it is put together now and so we are stuck with it.

I bought this for my son's 3rd birthday and he absolutely loves it. It took about 1 hour to put together. It is good quality and my son loves it. We are very happy with this purchase.

Both sides of the family pitched in to get this for my son's 4th birthday. We had a party and all the kids flocked around to play. It's big enough that six kids could all play at once. He loves that it makes noises and lights up. I love that he can sort of redesign the track how he wants (although it's super cool as is). I also like how light weight it is-easy to move it from his room to the living room. He has played with it every single day for the past two weeks!

My son LOVES this table. When properly assembled it is very sturdy and has lots of durability. We have had ours for over a year now and the only problem we ever have is losing parts, which toddlers are good at doing. It does include two drawers for storage which help to keep the play area tidy. The tracks are changeable and there are endless opportunities. You might want to consider two people to help put this together for easier assembly. Comes with lots of pieces, but the directions make it easy.

I purchased this for our daughter after reading previous reviews. It was important to me to find an affordable train table with an espresso wood tone. The reviews are true - you get SO MANY pieces for what you pay. It takes a long time to assemble but the instructions are clear. The only negative is that one piece of track is chipped but it's fixable. It's bigger than I expected but our daughter loves it and we do too.

We bought this when our son was one. He's about to turn four and still plays with it all the time. It's been through a cross country move and a move across town and its still as sturdy as the day we bought it. Excellent train table.

We bought this for our son's 3rd birthday. It's the perfect size for him and very sturdy. He normally dismantles things like this but because this is on a table, it's still all together. There are lots of play elements to the set and he creates lots of games and scenarios with it. Also big enough to allow his 5yr old sister to play without getting in each others way. Plenty of pieces to share.
I would recommend this set and we felt it was good value for money.
It was easy to assemble.
The only negative is that a couple of the sound sensors don't seem to work so will have to look at that.

My husband put it together and it did take a while, but my son LOVES it and so does all his friends. It's hours of entertainment!
