It's very cute, but as others have said, the connector pieces fall off quite easily and all the time. I keep gluing them because he loves the bridge. A quick note on usage: my son doesn't have motorized trains, so we don't have the issue with the smoothness of the track. However, he loves to have pretend disasters with the collapsing action, so if (like other reviewers) you don't realize why the bridge collapses, well, that's why.

    Collapses but goes nowhere

Comments about Toys R Us 1001325 Imaginarium Collapsing Bridge:

This bridge looked nice in theory and fun too. However, when the bridge collapses, the train on the bridge goes nowhere but down and stops. It can't function with one side of the bridge collapsing and allowing the train to continue, and when it collapses, it stops all train traffic everywhere. This would be a much better item if it were a drawbridge type, where the two halves raise up and allow traffic underneath while stopping the over the top traffic from continuing. Instead, this piece only works if it's NOT collapses, making it nothing more than a basic bridge dolled up to look like a fancier one.

I would not have been surprised if the plastic pieces broke with use....but not the wooden ones! Got the gift for my grandson for Christmas and on Christmas day, the wooden piece on the bridge just broke off! Lousy workmanship! No more Imaginarium stuff for me!

Like other mentioned, we have glued the connector piece multiple times and the bridge sags in the middle so that trains do get stuck if they are pulling a tender or coach. If they fixed those 2 issues this would be an easy 5 stars. We have been pleased with this brand other then this particular toy, so do not let it discourage you to buy their other train pieces.

                    Pros - Looks good.

                    Cons
                    - why collapsing?
                    - The male connector piece at the end of the bridge easily breaks off!!! Safetly issue as it is pretty small. Had to use Gorilla glue to get it finally stay in place.

We were so excited to take this bridge home but it was not what we hoped it would be. The bridge does not line up so when trying to pass a train over it frustrates everyone. I took it back the next day.

                      Poor design

Comments about Toys R Us 1001325 Imaginarium Collapsing Bridge:

The two bridge halves lean a little bit while being in the raised position, so the Brio battery-operated engine hits the bridge when it is placed in the lower level track. Besides, each bridge half has a separate lever, and you must activate both if you want the whole bridge to collapse.

                      I am returning it.
