We purchased 2 shields for (then) 4 year old twin boys and it's now coming almost one year later and the shields are still doing great. They have taken a brutal beating, even used for Halloween, and are still in great shape. Well constructed, excellent size and very attractive. They have 2 vertical adjustable Velcro straps in the back to slide the forearm and then grip with the same hand. I have used it many times to defend myself against relentless attacks from the natives :-)
