It can sometimes be unstable, but overall, definitely holds up to the creativity of one 3.5 yr. old and his parents. It's a family fun activity and every child who comes over wants to play with it too. It is good for little ones, allowing them to work on their fine motor skills and logic learning of which pieces go together. There are plenty of marbles and they are fun and colorful to watch race down and loop around.

We only wish there were more bases to allow us to further our creativity.

I read reviews that made me really doubt this item. I have been excited about the possibilities and happy our 4 year old received it as a birthday gift. DO NOT WORRY about the negative reviews. I found it to be super easy to assemble, my 4 year old loves it, the marbles work great for us with literally no negative issues at all. It is excellent and I am very happy about it!!! I thought for sure, after reading all the negative reviews that we would be returning it, but not at all the case. Yeah!!

My 3 1/2 year old played with this at a friends house and was absolutely enthralled so we bought him his own. Its true it doesn't come with directions so it was put together by looking at the built model on the box. I didn't mind too much, it was fun mental exercise as an adult. The second time I put it together went much faster, maybe 10-15 minutes as I had a better understanding of how the parts worked. I hand pieces to my son and have him connect them so he is involved in the construction. Once put together it stays together pretty well unless you are rough. It leans a little in places but what do you expect for this price. If you put a lot of marbles in at the same time they can get stuck in the tubes, no big deal, just use a finger to jiggle them around to flowing again. The marbles it comes with are plastic, light and cheap and you will definitely have more fun with traditional glass 1/2 inch marbles. They sold these at the checkout at ToysrUs, $2.50 for a bag of 25ish, pretty cheap and many pretty, fancy colors to choose from. We plan on buying a second Marble race to create even bigger structures. This is one of my favorite toys to play with my son and he loves it too!

My sons (ages 4,6,7) love this game. It teaches strategic planning and physics. I would've given it 5 stars but the bases are too small and therefore the 'towers' are unstable. But when assembled correctly it holds up to 3 boys!

My children have been using this product for 1 month so far. From what I have noticed: pieces are very cheap and flimsy, marbles not heavy enough. The pieces do not all fit together snuggly enough and so the entire creation can fall apart too easily. Imaginarium needs to make the pieces out of a better plastic and make the marbles heavier.

My son bought this product for his two boys. I love playing with it with them, so I've bought a set for each of my other grandchildren's families. They ALL adore playing with this creative toy. In a world of techno gadgets, it's wonderful to have them playing with real toys.

I went to TRU to buy a birthday present for a 4 year old boy and found this on sale as a door buster-which was about $10 less than I was expecting to pay. Based on reviews that I read about this item I also purchased this for my 4 year old daughter. This is probably one of the coolest toys I've seen in a while. It is definitely for a child that is at least 4 as it requires some imagination and thought and vision as to how things flow and fit together. As much as my daughter enjoys this, my husband enjoys it more- he comes up with so many cool configurations each time he plays with it! We do not experience any problems with the marbles or have any problems fitting pieces together. I definitely would recommend this for kids of all ages! Great product!

This toy was very flimsy from the start, but after using it for maybe ten minutes the pieces started falling apart and would not go back together. The male ends are too small for the female ends and there is no interference fit, which means the pieces do not stay together at all. Horrible design.
Also the "marbles" are plastic. Really? Marbles are supposed to be made out of glass.

We purchased this item for our 4 year old son who loves puzzles. I assumed that he would be able to put it together himself--not the case. The parts are not interchangeable as I was led to believe. There are several ways it can be assembled, but the instructions must be followed to a "t". As my husband was putting it together, he noted that many of the pieces were not consistantly sized, so some wouldn't fit at all. We returned this and are looking for something with more creative potential--perhaps a wooden marble run.

My 4 and 6 year old children love this marble run! They love building it and watching the marbles race to the bottom. My only complaint is that it is difficult to build the more complex marble runs, like the one shown on the box. Better instructions on how to build these would be helpful.
