I orginally was going to give a bad review because of the too low of volume, but checked multiple devices and realize the devices themselves may have volume limits set, so if the device is set at a low volume setting already, the headphones will max out too low to hear. if the device is set at max, then the headphones will max out themselves. the max is actually a pretty loud level, so i think it works great, just have to check each device you use it with.

my 5 year old daughter received these for christmas this year and i was very excited because i thought it would solve the problem about worrying if the volume was too loud for her. I tried them on first and maxed out the volume on the device and you can barely hear anything, let alone make out words. and that was sitting in an absolutely quiet living room. my husband tried them too. same thing. they would never work in a car with road noise. DONT waste your money! I'm going to try an older age/kid version of the safe sounds because I like the idea of limiting the sound level but this is too low.

I purchase this product for my 2 year old daughter to use with her I pad when we travel. Well talk about a waste on the plane I put it on her ears and she basically told me she couldn't hear anything, so I check and my daughter was correct not a single sound came from the headphones. I didn't want to be bother with it that I just left it on the plane for whomever wanted them. I had to give her the headphones that Jet blue provided which were perfect and free...

I've had the headphones for about 6 months and my daughter is already complaining that it is not loud enough. We mainly use it on long trips, and the sound quality is very bad.

These are very nice headphones. Just be careful what device you buy them for since we've found that some devices have reduced volume when using headphones too. If you pair these with a device that does, it can be hard for the child to hear even turned all the way up.

We got these to use with a Leap Frog LeapPad and you can barely hear anything, not even enough to make out what is being said when sitting in a quiet room. There is no way you could hear anything in a car or plane with these. Will be returning them.
Wish we would have read reviews before wasting time to get them and return them.

I bought two pair of these earphones, one for each of my daughters. They fit both my three year old and my one year old (although the one year old has a large head). If you are using these in a room the volume is fine. However, when we are traveling in a car or an airplane the road/plane noise makes it so these are too quiet. Both daughters complain of not being able to hear the show. We mainly encounter this problem when using our ipad. When attached to the portable DVD player the volume comes through better. Wish I'd realized the problem sooner so I could return them.

We bought these headphones for my daughter to use with her Leapster Explorer. I strongly recommend not getting them to attach to games. I saw other reviews said it was too loud, but we had the opposite problem - we could barely hear any of the sound. It was very quiet. Since we'd purchased them solely for use with her game we've returned them.

So far, so good with these headphones. They fit my 2 year old well. I think the volume still goes up too high, so just check it before you put it on their ears. Otherwise they seem very sturdy and I like the padding on the ears.
