I really like the Tag system, but was not impressed by these books. The majority of the "books" to the set are actually workbooks that are very similar to the $3 Leapfrog workbooks and don't use the Tag pen. I realized one sheet would be stickers, but didn't read closely enough or look at the picture well enough to see that there is only one hard cover book and the others are like writing pads with pages that easily fall out. My daughter enjoys them; I just would have preferably bought the $3 workbooks that have many more activities and gotten her a map or reading book set instead of this one. I got it on sale at least. I would not recommend it for full price, at least not over the other Tag book sets.

A little disappointed because I though there would be exercises to learn to trace the individual letters. Instead it's about drawing different types of lines and some of the letters. My son isn't very interested in using this book. It will have to be one I make him use.

I read the reviews given previously... it's okay with me that workbooks are consumable and are not tag reader compatible. I will be interacting with him when he is using the reader and then making copies of the workbook pages for repeated use as necessary. I will note worksheet dates on respective pages as well as When he has mastered a given WS page for reference and personal tracking. I purchased the Tag reader Christmas 2010, and I add to it throughout the year and each Christmas.

Overall, I love this set. I was just disappointed when I opened the package and there was only one Tag Reader book. I read the full description before I bought it.. But I still assumed the workbooks were compatible with the Tag Reader, as well. They're not. They are pen/pencil workbooks. I wish that was stated more clearly in the description. That's my only complaint. That being said - this set is awesome and my daughter loves it!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
