With the Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Kick and Play Piano Gym, your baby can kick the piano’s keys to play music and make lights sparkle. The movable toys on the overhead gym encourage your baby to bat and grasp. Move the arch down for tummy-time play or let your baby sit and entertain you with a piano concert. Your baby will strengthen his or her motor skills by stretching and kicking, and batting at and grabbing the colorful toys will enhance your baby’s hand-eye coordination. The musical rewards will help your baby understand cause-and-effect, while the dancing lights and mirror stimulate your little one’s visual sense and promote self-awareness. With up to 15 minutes of music, your baby will have a blast kicking away in this piano gym.
Features
Piano
Your little one can lie down in this gym and kick the vertical piano keys to play music and make lights sparkle. By switching the piano to the horizontal position, your baby can sit up and entertain you with a piano concert.
Overhead gym
The overhead gym features colorful, moving toys that encourage your baby to bat and grasp. Move the arch down for tummy-time play and let your little one discover his or her reflection in the mirror to promote self-awareness.
Music
The piano gym can play up to 15 minutes of music to entertain your baby. The power/volume switch allows you to adjust the volume to fit your preference, and the music can be set to either long- or short-play mode.
Develop and grow
Stretching and kicking the piano keys will help your child strengthen motor skills, while batting and grasping the colorful linking toys will help to enhance your little one’s hand-eye coordination. The piano plays music in response to your child’s touch to help your baby understand cause-and-effect, and the dancing lights and mirror stimulate your baby’s sense of vision and promote self-awareness.

The Fisher-Price Discover 'N Grow Kick and Play Piano Gym features:

  • Lay and play mode where baby can kick at the piano keys and look up at a toy-filed arch
  • In tummy time the arch swivels down to the mat and baby can lie and look directly into a large mirror
  • In sit and play the piano keys level up and baby play at the piano while surrounded by toys on the swiveled down arch
  • Includes a large sun mirror, an elephant with a roller ball, a lion with a soft teethable mane, a frog with clackers and a soft birdie teether.

I have b/g 11 week old twins. I bought this mat and another one by Infantino since with twins I can get 2 different ones and just swap them back and forth to keep play time less repetitive. The Infantino mat is very cheaply made compared to this one. Both my babies love this mat. My daughter kicks all the time and is constantly setting off the piano (which is surprisingly not annoying). She also loves staring down the hanging lion toy. My son likes hitting the frog and the elephant. Since the Infantino mat is so lame, I just put both of the babies on the Fisher-price mat. It is a tight fit, but they still enjoy it (for now). Wish I would have just bought 2 of these mats.

Tried it for a month - not a fan

It was hard to pick a play mat, b/c there are so many to choose from! I had this problem with my first and ended up borrowing one.
I picked this one (after debating for 30 mins) b/c I thought the kick-piano would be fun for my little active guy. I liked at first, but realized quick it was on the small side, not providing much room for growth. My son was maybe 7-8 weeks when I got it. The piano is great for when they kick, but they aren't really looking at it when they're on their back. Thee mirror that hangs is at a weird angle, and when he's on his tummy, there's not much to look at. The dangly toys are really hard, bulky and plain. Some of them hang really low (but 2 of the hooks can slide for various positions).
I am taking it back. I want something that has a larger mat, and something that lights up over his head to keep his attention, with places to attach toys to the mat for tummy time. It was fun for a little while - I just think the more active he gets, he'll want something more interactive.
The piano would probably be good once they sit up and can bat on things - but for that matter, I can just buy another toy that will do the same thing.
It's not bad, but not worth the $ - I'd rather try one of the other 100 choices...

My son is 8 weeks old and LOVES this gym. Didn't get 5 stars because it doesn't fold up for storage well. Babies R Us won't price match this product and I have found it selling 10.00 cheaper.

        Saw a couple using this product on YouTube and thought I needed to get it for my daughter. It is way pricey but I thought it would be good to have. Since having this, my daughter has learned to reach for the dangling toys, talk to herself on the mirror, learned what her kicking feet can do and more. Now she is 5 months old and sitting on her own, she enjoys playing on the piano while watching mommy and daddy do chores around her. Parts are simple to pull apart for cleaning.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

          We purchased this Activity Gym for our baby, who is 7 wks old. He hasn't shown much interest in other toys prior to now, but he LOVES this gym. I was amazed by how he would stare up at his reflection in the mirror, bat at the hanging toys, and kick the piano keys. It keeps him entertained for 30+ mins at a time!

          Best features:
          - Gym converts to 3 different positions to grow with baby - Toy bar lays flat for tummy time, toy bar above for laying on back, and piano upright for when baby can sit up.
          - Piano is easy for him to kick as an infant and converts to an upright position to play with once he can sit up.
          - Music is cute & not annoying. Lights on piano are stimulating for baby.
          - Fabric mat detaches easily to wash.
          - Overall a cute and functional design.

          Suggestions for improving the product:
          - It would be nice if they included a small pillow to help prop him up during tummy time. Some of the other mats out there include this. Fortunately we have a little pillow we can use.
          - Not much else - It's great as-is!

          We received this as a baby shower gift for our first baby last year. She is now 13 months old. We had it all put together and ready for her when we came home from the hospital, we were just tooo excited lol she started with this on the floor at only a couple of weeks old..we would play together, once she had a little more power in those legs she would just kick the keys and the music would play. She loves this toy, she still plays with it. We have a baby boy due in May look forward to him playing with it as well.

                I bought this for my 11 week old and love it! Her old mat just wasn't cutting it. The bar wouldn't stay up and the toys were out of reach. I bought this because she loves to kick! She picked up right away that when she kicked it made a note (when not actively kicking will play a song). I loved that the toys hung low, so she can actually bat at them and reach them. Another poster commented on weird mirror angle... It's at that angle because baby's head isn't going to be directly under the bar. It's perfectly positioned and definately room to grow! Also, bar can be positioned against the floor for tummy time, so the toys and mirror are sprawled in front on baby. I wanted to put this out there, as another poster complained about some of it's best features, and didn't seem to know about other features! Mat is super easy to remove from toy, for easy washing! I haven't found anything I dislke about it yet!

                  We received the Luv-U-Zoo for our shower and my son just didn't care for it. I bought this Kick & Play and he LOVED it, even when he was a month old! It kept him entertained for at least 30 minutes at a time and was a lifesaver most days. The entire 6 months we used it, I didn't have to replace the batteries...and we used it constantly! When he started rolling, he didn't care for it as much because the bars got in his way, so we pulled back out the Luv-U-Zoo and he loves that one now because it gives him room to roll as he pleases. This one is definitely worth having for the first few months though!
