My sister in law bought this for my son last Christmas when it was almost full price, because he saw her son's that she bought the month before, and he LOVED it. We had a few good runs on it, then he became disinterested and Elmo was put in the toy box. My son would just sit and watch elmo, and was never rough. When he decided to play with him again a couple of months later, elmo could only get through part of a song. So I changed all 6 (!) batteries again, and the same thing happened. Then his limbs all stopped working, and the next day, the batteries were dead again (duracells). so I changed them again, and elmo wouldn't turn on at all. I was reluctant to tell my sister in law that her sixty buck toy was already broken, but the next month we visited her, she told us that her son's had stopped working unexpectedly too! These things didn't even make it six months! I don't know what went wrong in the manufacturing process, but this toy needs work. Please save your money. I wouldn't even spend twenty on it.

I bought this for my 15 month old daughter b/c every time we went into the store she would go right for this toy and want to dance. I've had it for a couple weeks now and I've had No problems what so ever. My daughter learned how to activate Elmo very quick, and now she carries him around, tries to feed him, and rocks out with him. Best toy i've purchased for her yet!!!

My daughter absolutely loves it, and dances away to the songs. My husband and I can't stand it because the day we got it home, it stopped working properly after the first few songs. Elmo quits mid-song, freezes and makes clicking sounds, and you have to repeatedly touch his foot to keep him activated. Would be nice if he played longer on his own. We took him back, and the second one does the same thing, so we give up!

I bought my daughter the "rock and roll" guitar and noticed that as soon as taken off the try me mode it emitted such a high pitched frequency that only myself and my bf could hear it, older people 30+ have a hard time noticing it if they do at all. I thoughtit was just a broken toy so i went back and tried all the others, the guitars, piano, and rockin elmo all make the sound when taken off try me mode.

We got Elmo for my 17 month old Daughter for Christmas after she saw it in the store and seemed to love it. When she opened it on Christmas she was so happy to see it and loves to play with it now. It would be nice if there were a few more songs with it, or if the add on instruments (which we also got) did more than one song with Elmo, but it's still a fun toy that she loves.

On the downside however, after playing with it for 2 days Elmo now stops mid song every few songs. I have replaced the batteries and it still does the same thing. I have also seen other comments online mentioning the same type of problem.

My son is 23 months and he LOVED the Elmo toy. He has not stopped playing with it yet. It coordinates well with the guitar and the keyboard and sings the ABCs which is what we are learning right now. Thanks a bunch.

Bought this toy for my 3 year old daughter & 15 month old son to share. They both love it, but everytime they play one of the instrument, a high pitched sound goes off (whether it's in elmo mode or not). It is driving me crazy. I am seriously considering returning this & all the additional toys.
