My son is 15 months and picked this toy out himself, I was a little hesitant because I had seen the reviews but I figured I'd give it a go! We got home put in all 6 AA batteries add one of the 2 features didn't work; it moves forward and spins. However, my son really liked it so I ended up exchanging it and the 2nd one seems to be working just fine (hopefully it last). Even though he is young he is able to make it move he just doesn't have that good control, he still loves playing with it!

Bought this for my son, it runs good even in carpet but I wish it had some kind of play modes any sounds to make it a real toy. He gets bored quick too quiet for a child. Other than that is a good toy.

As soon as I saw this item I bought it this summer and could not WAIT to give it to my little boy. At the time, finding Chuggington toys was very hard to do, so when I saw it, I just snatched it up. I know there are some reviews on the Brewster version not working, so I was a bit concerned. We finally put the batteries in Wilson last night and he was working and was a BIG hit with my 3 year old son. It is a very simplistic remote control train, he goes in circles, or goes straight. I don't know much about the actual range of the remote to the train since my chugger just followed after Wilson around the house and was squealing with joy. He saw Brewster in Toys R Us last night and wanted him too. I think we will work on completing the other Chuggington sets family and friends have started him on first though.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
