We bought this for our daughters 3rd birthday and she loves it. The guitar was a little hard to tune but overall for her first one it is a great starter. So far we have had no problems. I do put it up out of reach when she is not playing for us so she doesn't break a string etc. It looks just like the picture and is as described. I am pleased with this item.

Im posting this b/c I read a lot of negative reviews before we decided to purchase the guitar. While it is true that it is plastic, its sturdily made and sounds fairly good.

This is not a purchase for an older child, or for anyone taking lessons. It is a toy, appropriate for ages 3-6 I would say. Hope this helps!

Was a gift for my 7 yr old granddaughter. Is a very nice first guitar. She loved that it was pink!

This guitar looked so cute for a gift, but I took it home tried to tune, it being very careful, but one of the strings broke when it wasn't even taught. Needless to say I returned it the next day. Thank goodness the customer service didn't blink an eye. If someone knows the trick to tuning these please pass it along.

I am by no means a guitar specialist, and I realize this is classified as a toy guitar. But it should really be classified, WILL BREAK EASILY toy. I (30 something), not my 5 year old daughter, was trying to get the strings in tune, when BAMMM!!!! The entire plastic bridge broke off and ruined the entire guitar. This was day # 1 of use. Scratch that, it had not even been used yet!!!! I would highly suggest spending a little more and getting a guitar that has a lil more durability and quality to it. Very sad day at our house. And an extremely sad toddler. First Act Discovery should be ashamed....

I read the reviews here for this product and thought, "Hey, this just might work!". So I took my daughter to Toys-R-Us and picked up this guitar.When we got it home and took it out of the box we were not very impressed with it. PLASTIC PLASTIC PLASTIC. And the quality is lacking for even a [$] item. I tuned it as best I could, but it sounded pretty bad. And then I played a bunch of songs on it to show my daughter that it COULD be played and that made her a bit more happy. But after about 5 minutes of her playing it, it was way out of tune AGAIN.I will keep it short, after the first string broke only having had it for a few hours, my wife and I were pretty upset. And our daughter was not abusing it. I put on a new string and we decided this would be the "toy" for when the grandchildren come over, but NOT our daughter's guitar.Today I ordered a 3/4 size guitar from a store the specializes in smaller guitars for children (the one in this review is considered a 1/2 size), small adults, and "travel" guitars. I had to pay LOT more for it, but IMO it at least is a REAL guitar.If anyone is looking for a TOY, this is fine. If they are looking for a GUITAR, do not buy this item. PERIOD. I don't expect low end guitars to sound "great" or be the best of quality, but this isn't even in the "low quality" range. It is garbage. Nice toy for a 3 or 4 year old though.If you are looking for a guitar for real, expect to pay close to $100 or MORE for the cheapest "acceptable" guitar. Toys-R-Us is right... TOYS. Don't make the mistake I did HOPING it would work out. IT WILL NOT, in spite of the other reviews you may read that say it is great.

"Santa" brought this guitar to my daughter after she asked for a guitar for a very long time. She is six years old. She has loved it and although she hasn't had lessons yet, can play some notes/sounds pretty easily.
